Has that been your personal experience? What did your multi-gens test out to be?
Actually....reading up on the breeds that she is, it really makes a lot of sense. And she looks and acts very much like the two major contributors, so no....I don't regret it and would highly recommend it to others. It sure explains a lot of the differences between my two dogs based on breed instincts.
As for my multi-gen ALD and GD mix....I don't see a need to test him at all. His lines go back to where they mixed 6 different breeds in Australia, so when you add in the Golden on top of that, he would have markers for at least 7. And since he exhibits all of the instincts and actions and goofiness and cartoon looks of that blend, I'm fine with him being my little cartoon character buddy. I did no research on Double Doodles before I got him. I just liked and trusted the breeder and had great luck (allergy wise) being around my niece's doodle from the same breeder, so it was easy...I just picked him out based on temperament test. I was the only person who didn't care about looks, color or gender of the ten puppies from that litter. I just cared about temperament and feel like I got the pick of the litter! (Most people wanted the dark red curly females. The breeder chose Kona for me based on our many many hours of talking about my lifestyle and living arrangements and what I was looking for in a companion. Of course I think she did a great job pairing him with me)
