- What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
- F1b Goldendoodle - Casey - born 3/2/13 - came to live with us 5/2/13 @ 9 weeks old. Even with the dachshunds around, he looked lonely, so on 5/8/13 we went back and brought his brother, Cody, home also.
2 Wirehair dachshunds (Tango, Tia), 1 Shih Tzu (My mother passed away in 2016, so Georgie is now part of my crew.
- Where did you get your doodle(s)?

- Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
- Lots of research about the breed seemed like the perfect one for us. We have always had a "big" dog in addition to several little critters. Our Big boy - Tramp - (a stray who adopted us) died last year. We had him for 13 years and he was estimated to be about 2-3 when he appeared on our doorstep one day and decided that he was moving in. We let him, and he was a joy to us for many years. We also have had a German Shorthair Pointer and a Golden Retriever. They were all wonderful, loving dogs who each lived a long happy life. We miss them each very much - but decided this time to 1) not get another GSP because my husband always swears that she was "the perfect dog" and no other GSP could ever compare to her and 2) as much as I loved our Golden Retriever, you could make a new dog every day with the hair that I swept up. SO - we decided to go with another breed altogether. The Goldendoodle has the sweetness of the Golden Retriever - but hopefully will not shed - at least as much as our Golden did.
- What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
- Cuddle, play ball, and just have them around.
- Does your doodle(s) shed?
- Nope!
- Who grooms your doodle(s)?
- I attempted to groom them, but now have a mobile groomer come to the house every 2 months to groom them.
- Would you be willing to Dog Sit on occasion for other DoodleKisses members? (You are NOT committing to anything by saying yes - you are just saying you might be willing to do this if you were acquainted with the other member and the circumstances were right.)

Well, I may be prejudiced, but I think the F1b goldendoodle is the best kind of dog to have. If you don't want them to look so much poodle, cut the face more rounded and leave the tail get long. Poodles usually have shaved faces and shaved tails with a pomp on the end. Enjoy these wonderful dogs.
Hey, Joyce, welcome to DoodleKisses - the best website around for doodle lovers everywhere. Retirement! That is such a special time for you and your doodles. We got our first when my husband retired (2003) and have two others since then. We have always groomed our own doodles because we had the time and the inclination. Sometimes, we take several days for a total groom. We both work on it and take turns. A total groom includes a face and foot trim (clippers), ear clean, scissors cut, then a bath, blow dry, and then the final cut. I usually do the scissors cut, wash, and dry. Charlie uses the clippers and final cut. You will get your own routine down. Buy your materials and look forward to doing your own grooming. We all love it.
