Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Casey and Cody are 6 months old today. Casey is beginning to look pretty shaggy, so I decided it was time for their first professional grooming.  I called one place to ask about their experience with Goldendoodles, prices, etc. The girl told me - "no problem, we can shave any dog."  I said - NO - I don't want them shaved, but cut and groomed. She asked if I didn't want them shaved, did I just want them to have a bath.  I said Thank You for your time - and quickly hung up!  This may take a lot longer than I though just to find a place with a bit of experience with doodles.

I found a great place to take them. I called on Tuesday and was able to get an appointment for the next day. We talked for a long time about what I wanted. I felt much better when she told me that they groom about 12 doodles on a regular basis. She had photos of several that I liked. She warned me that it was going to take all day since this was their first cut, she said that they bathe them, dry them, then begin working with them in short spurts. She said they would do a little, them put them off the table and let them play awhile before doing a bit more. She said that way,, they don't get as tired and restless on the table. Whatever -- it seemed to work. They were happy and playing when I got there to pick them up and seemed to really like the people there. Cody even jumped up on his groomer and gave him a big sloppy kiss. I'll try to post pictures if I can get them to pose for me.

I've attempted several times to inset a picture, but keep getting a message that the number of characters exceeds the maximum. Sure wish I knew more about this stuff!

Did you click on the second icon from the left above your post. That should do it. Posting from a tablet is beyond most off us though so ou need at least a laptop.

Yes, but when I attempted to insert the picture, it said that it was too large. I suspect that I have the camera set at HD. Just haven't had time to go back and "tone it down."

I don't know if this will help, but once you click on the 2nd icon from the left above the msg. box, and upload your pic from your computer, have you tried changing the Width to something in the 400-600 range? There's a Width field in that same dialogue box for uploading pictures. I'd love to see your doods' new doos!

Gonna try again.  Here is a photo of the boys after their 1st grooming
