Can anyone tell me what kind of coat this is considered? This is our 6mo Aussiedoodle named Tanner.

I don't completely understand the Wool, Fleece, Hair chart. Sorry, I'm really smart, I'm just a guy and not keen on fabrics I guess. He dose not shed, he throws the ocassional dust bunny that we pickup and put in the trash, but no fine hairs except when brushing.   I would describe his coat as fuzzy, he's like a giant cotton ball. It's like he has these long hairs that are not very numerous, and then some kind of thicker coat underneath.

Also does anyone know if Aussiedoodles will have a coat change as well at 8mo or later?

He is the big one, the little one is a 9wk old puppy.  Thanks.

Looks to me like a puppy coat, which he will lose before long and then you should post another picture!  My GD was fluffy like that until his adult coat came in (around 7+ mo) and then he became very curly, with occasional tufts of straighter hair that only show if I let his coat grow out much.  His coat now is very different from his puppy coat -- which also was reddish, while his adult coat is a very light cream.

Hello.   Tanner is awfully cute! Is this Tanner's coat brushed or not brushed?   Some parts of his coat on his back area look like my fleece/wool dog.  That area is like cotton, and it is fluffy.  The area at the tip of his paws look like my fleece dog.  Not fluffy.  Looks like a combination of fleece and wool at this stage, but that could change.

Both my dogs at that age had a little bit more curl, and the coat was still pretty soft.  I think at around one, the coats began to change.  I have one dog that is a  fleece/wool coat that is tighter curls and in that area it feels like cotton, and one fleece coat that is looser curls.  Looking back, I see that the fleece/wool was going to be a combination.  He had area's that were not as soft, and cotton like.  My fleece coat guy is super, super soft.

Hurley is blowing his puppy coat.  He is 14 months old and a wavy fleece.  His coat is very full, lots of it but it is light, wavy and silky.  He does not shed.  Tanner, is very cute, by the way.

if it wasnt for the clolor of hurley's coat I would think I was looking at sophie. She even has the same green toy out in the yard. I took some pictures of her int he snow that I will have to post but she has the same coat that is super full and thick but some how still light weight.

I just looked at pictures of Sophie and I so agree with you.  They have the same coat. Could easily be thought to be related.  Funny that they have the same toy.  That is Hurley's snow toy for when we go to Brian Head, Utah.  He likes playing with it when we are home also.

Tanner (who is very cute, btw), looks to me like he'll have something between a wool and fleece coat at maturity. My Lucy has a very woolly coat at 3 yrs old. Her picture at about 4 months old is the first one below. Oscar, on the other hand, has a very different puppy coat than Lucy's was at his age. We expect him to have a fleece coat at maturity. His picture at 4 months is the last one. Hope this helps.

This is Ned at 6 months and I think the coat looks much like Tanner's.  We began trimming him at 4 months so he never showed longer hairs with shorter underneath.  He is fairly soft, but overall he feels like cotton. He had major matting from 6 months to over 2 years.  He still mats but not overnight.

All these photos are just too darn cute! If my Olive is as cute as any of these dogs replying to Nicks post about doodle coats... Such beautiful dogs on this site! I often wonder how Olive will look too, here she is at about four months. I just want fluff that won't matt too much!
