HI all,

I'm ready to buy a dryer.   Sarge has a wavy coat and we like it long and flowing. My desire is that he is comfy and I'm not spending hours drying his coat into a flowing coat

I  was looking at different ones, which can be quite overwhelming. I saw these three but if there is a better one for a good price, please  let me know.

First time doing links here, so I hope these (bottom)  work:

  1. b-air I
  2. b-air II
  3. dog shammy model  with variable speed.   (Site also says models can have  noise reduction and "smoothcoat technology" added for a nominal cost.  Of course that  may just be gobbleygook advertising words)

Thanks in advance!!

b-air I for $112 - cheaper option

dog shammy with variable speed?  If I had the smoothcoat tech, it adds up.

b-air II for $202

I have this one, an X Power 3hp Variable Speed high velocity dryer

I love it, but if I had to do it again I would get the X Power 4hp variable speed dryer. I say go for the highest horse power dryer you can afford.

Thank you!

I checked that one out and it's now at the top of my list.  Both reviews were pros comparing it to tools they use at work.

thanks again!

Hey, you're welcome! I wish my iPad hadn't been almost out of battery power earlier, as I had more I could have said, which I'll say now...

One thing I love about the XPower is its so quiet compared to other brands. I also have a Metro Quick Draw which is only 1.5hp and it is almost twice as loud as the XPower.

The reason I went with the XPower 3HP originally was because, 1. It was twice the power of what I was accustomed to and I thought 3HP would be plenty, and 2. I was in the process of 'gearing up' for doing my own grooming and I couldn't justify the add'l cost of 1HP, not with the expense of a grooming table, shears, clipper and blades. I tell you what, though, with doing 2 doodles over several days, I could use that extra 1HP, if it only made the groom time 15 minutes less per doodle. So, live and learn. Hopefully, I can help someone else to not make the same mistake I made. Good luck!

Deb, I love this one. I think you recommended it and I can't thank you enough. It's been a wonderful investment!

I'm glad you like it, Jenn. Have you noticed that the majority of the noise comes from the wind velocity streaming through the hose's nozzle, rather than the motor?

One other thing I'd like to mention, and it regards any and all HVD's. To extend the life of the motor, clean/wash the sponge filter after every groom.
