Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hi all,

I wanted to give you an update on what's been going on in my romp groups. We have consistantly had 12-18 doodles and owners and have been so fortunate to have great weather here.

I have been using name tags since Oct. to get everyone acquainted better and that is working out very well.

I have made Liver Treats from the Food Group Cookbook, that are easy and cheap to make and I asked Petco to donate some goodie bags with ties to put them in. Manager gave me about 100. They are cute and they advertise for Petco so it was a win-win for us both.

last week was day before Valentine's Day and I made 16 Red scarfs for the members and they all looked so cute running around with them on.

It also made it very easy to spot our dogs that way.  We had a special guest last week to as Nancy and Ned and her husband Skip joined us from Ca. They were visiting family in Tuscon and drove up. It was so nice to finally put a face and furball to the many posts I've been reading for over a year.

Next month I will probably make some St. Patricks Day Scarfs as it's on March 13th. It's cheap and easy to make.  I may raffle off a doggie quilt that I make and use that money to help pay for some of the materials and food stuff I make.  I enjoy making these things, but if you don't or aren't able, then there maybe someone in your group who would volunteer thier services.

I will be making some Doodlekisses business cards to hand out as I am surprised how many people still don't know about DK. and it's very handy to give out at romps. Nancy and Ned had some and they very given out last week.

I have more ideas and my mind is always busy with organizing group things, so I will share things as they come up.  What has worked for you?

Sue how did you make the scarfs? Any sewing involved? I am thinking a St. Paddy's day theme for Atlanta Area March Play Date.
Not on these, ofcourse you could if you really wanted to make them nice. I just cut a 20" X 20" square in half diagonally, for the really big doodles and some I made smaller, say 18" X 18" squares. That way you'd get 4 out of a yard of 44-45" wide fabric with a small amount of waste. You could do uneven squares if you had to, it's not written in stone. I hope to make really nice ones that i will sew the edges and embroider the frequent attendees names on this summer. But that's a whole DIY Group post I'll have to do.
