My husband and I are both retired. I'm 66, a cancer survivor, remarried for 41/2 years and live about an hour outside of Houston in "our" beautiful house! (He sold his and I sold mine and here we are!) We have a huge backyard just perfect for our goldendoodle! We have a 13 year old indoor kitty too. I thank God everyday for such a life! Between us we have 7 grown-up human kids too all in their 30's and 40's!! Amazing - how could that be??
I am only 39 (13 times!) You are lucky tobe retired - we own our business. DH says we will never retire!! I am hoping that this 6 week working vacation in Miami Beach may allow us to at least semi-retire. Keep your fingers crossed for me. I would love to join the world of semi-retirees and spend most of my days with Samantha.
i am 54 married to larry for 36 years. have 3 son's & 3 grandchildren, i have a doodle named rudie & a mixed terrier named corbin. i live in virginia & love going to the beach. i take my pups with me when we go, we stay at a campground. rudie loved the beach.
did we meet at Belinda house January 24th? She had a mini romp at her home for us to meet GRAD members on our drive down to Florida.
no i didn't make it to her house. i was at the doodle walk at stoney point mall in dec.
Oh, how I wish we could get to the veach more often in NJ. Samantha has been to the beach twice in NJ and once here in Florida. She loved it in Florida - I am hoping that the weather will cooperate when we get back this weekend.

We also have a 25ft. Rosobough boat ( 2007) we spend all our time on in the summer plus a Condo on the water in MD. My home port is Denver Pa. born and raised here. We go to OC.MD. on the boat so we can take Snickers with us.It's GREAT!!!!
how lucky for Snickers! I think Samantha would love that too, eventually.
My youngest daughter was diagnosed with fibromyalgia when she was 14, yes 14. She was trying on a pair of shoes for her wedding Dec 07 (wedding was Sept 07). The bench she went to sit was not put together properly (they used dowls, not screws) and as soon as she sat down it collapsed! On top of the fibro., she has disc issues, arthritis in her back due to the fall. She hasn't work since, thought she was going down the aisle in a wheelchair but thankfully drugs got her though the day on her feet. But she is a strong woman - sounds alike like you! You take Lyrica for the fibro??
Great idea Adrianne but why the age thing?? Ok I am 18, Really I will be 51 next month and the mother of 3 my oldest is going to be 28 then I have a son that is a nucelar engineer in the Navy he is going to be 27, and my baby is 16 and driving and looking at colleges. I manage an office durning the day at night I help my husband, as he owns his own business, I am the treasure for my daughter High School and run the sporting events as well. Ozzy is in school trying hard to become a thearpy dog. On top of all I was told I have fibromyalgia and the pains can be unbearable at times....Lyrica did not work for me, but I am glad it works for your daughter.
I believe that we see the world thru different eyes. We have gotten married, survived that first year, had babies (some of us), did the carpooling, schedule juggling, worked, cooked, cleaned, balance the checkbook, seen the passing of our parents, siblings, best friends, need I go on?? We have seen it, done it and own that tee-shirt.
I believe that raising our Doodles at this stage of our lives is so different than those who are chronologically younger (see I am still 39 in my eyes). We see the big picture and have lots to share with those who can understand it because they have been there.
