Winnie is a sweet little 10 year old 100% poodle that was abandoned by her owner on the streets of Jacksonville, FL the beginning of September She was scooped up in a rain storm while running through 7 lanes of traffic. The gentleman who found her, could not keep Winnie so he surrendered her to DRC. She is approximately 15 lbs but needs to gain another 3 more. She is 17 inches at the withers.
Winnie is a very sweet , calm little girl who doesn’t act her age. She loves to follow you everywhere and walks beautifully on her leash. She gets along with everyone, and every dog she has met, big or small as well as cats. Winnie is an excellent passenger in the car and gets happy feet when she hears her leash.
She has a little spunky side and has bursts of energy like a younger dog. She loves to play tug-of-war and is stronger than she looks. She likes to play with toys and sometimes gets a little bit of the zoomies, running around in the yard. But she is also perfectly content to lie in your lap or on the couch next to you. She likes to sleep on the foot of the bed or next to you and once in bed for the night she does not move. She needs someone who has love to give and she will love you right back with her whole heart!
She has some minor skin dryness that is pretty common in older dogs and poodles. She has been taking Evening Primrose Oil supplements along with eating a combination of Zignature wet and dry food to manage her skin. She has a really good appetite and does need to gain some weight.
If you have a little room in your heart and an empty lap, this girl will fill them both..... she is a true snuggle bug and a wonderfully sweet little girl!

Hi Lori,
Do you know if Winnie ever found a home? She's not listed on the Rescue site, so I'm hoping she did!
I believe she is in the process of getting a forever home. By that I mean, she has a very interested person who will be making travel arrangements to come and get her. Right now, she is still with her foster. I will get more details and let you know.
Winnie has a home! The very best! She will be going to her forever home right after Thanksgiving.
Good news! Thanks for the update.
