Opal and Titan from Washington had these yummy carmels. I get hungry just looking at them. 7 boys and 2 girls!

Yes, Hugo's ears are the same as Bell's but not quite as dark at the top. I just clipped some more fur (the birds will love the amount of nesting material scattered around my backyard) and the fur on his hindquarters is definitely pale apricot - ears are apricot - around his mouth is streaked with apricot and the top of his head, sides and underbelly are all cream. He is starting to matt but so far, I am on top of it. He loves the attention, so it isn't hard :-)

Hooray, they are 2! Yes we should be having a big party. Do you think the siblings born on that day should get together? Between us and Bill we still have 6 of the 14. We could also light a candle for poor Lucy who died of bloat. Remember everyone, rest your dogs at least one hour after eating. Jumping or running after eating can be fatal.

So interesting about the coat colour. Sunshine has always had some apricot on her ears and that makes her a very pale apricot cream. I had no idea Hugo would be too. Opal-Turk puppies that are very closely related are definitely apricot creams. Who new those earlier ones were too? Puppy coats are always straighter. It is easier to manage the coat change if it is 2 inches long. His sisters have not started yet.

Hugo has started to lose his baby coat - I have clipped his fur back a couple of inches and the coat underneath is woolly and curly (but still soft and cuddly). I am also able to brush out a small handful every day. I am discovering my limitations as a hairdresser! :-) He is having a bit of a bad hair week but I am fixing things as I go along. He thinks it is all great fun and a game to be groomed - that doesn't make it particularly easy but I don't mind. I try to wait until he is tired and calm but Hugo is always (always!) up for a play session. I notice his fur is changing colour a bit - his ears are definitely apricot, and the fur on his paws and around his mouth is also on the apricot side. Now that he has been clipped, I find the fur underneath has a peach tinge and along his back it is definitely a deeper pale peachy colour. Does their coat usually change colour as the adult fur grows in? At first I thought he had walked under something and stained his coat a bit :-)

Barb - your web site address at the top of this page has one too many w's in it - so the link is broken.

I did... it's a great photo!! And you are right that pup looks just like Opal did at that age. Little snuggums. Did you see the training photos I put on my site?

Nancy, did you notice that Bill has put one of Opal's puppies on his bio instead of Ice? That picture is in the puppy yard.
