Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
My first goal is to run/walk at least one mile everyday with my girls. They also need their fun so we will try to toss or "chuck-it" the ball a few times a week as well.

No that's a great start. That's a couple of hours a week. It adds up quick.
I thought I would get more exercise when getting a dog, turns out I don't get as much. Throwing a tennis ball for the doodle doesn't do much for me. I have a bike I used to ride for miles, haven't used it since getting Quincy. I think it is too far and fast for him and I don't have the time to walk the doodle and bike as well. Now that he has turned 2 I think when spring comes around I'll try and train him to go biking with me. We usually spend an hour a day outside but only half of that is actual exercise for me, the rest is spent throwing a tennis ball, so I guess I should walk for an hour and then play ball with the doodle. This group is a great idea, maybe it will inspire me to get more active.
Hey I'm all for some accountaability. That's one of the reasons I asked Adina if I could start this group. I need someone to hold me to it. I'll check in on you later and see if you've made it out for a walk :)
1. do SOMETHING every day - walk/ ride exercise bike/ ride regular bike/ climb stairs at work
2. journal EVERYTHING I put in my mouth - drastically reduce the junk!
3. lose at least 30lbs - more would be better 20-30 is more realistic
4. spend more 1 on 1 time with each of our 3 doodles - reinforcing training and just play with each individual
My weight has slowly been creeping up the last few years. I did a big push about a year and a half ago, to loose weight for my wedding, but I have since put it back on and more.... I want to loose about 25lb in total, but I know it will be slow coming off. I have a bad back (T4 syndrome and thoracic outlet syndrome). I have been going to the physio for 3 months now and am now able to get exercising. I have been told to work up to doing stretches 5 - 7 times a week. So my goal is to get into the routine of doing wii fit yoga 5 times a week.
Count so far this week - 0 (I havent been to well the last 2 days, thats my excuse lol)
I'm proud of you for wanting to make the effort Kaytlin. So many people find it easy to use their health issues as a crutch. I know that there are some who are honestly limited but there is usually something for everyone. Deep breathing and stretching can be very beneficial.
We're glad you're here :-)
