March Doodle Romp!

Hey everyone,

 

About a week to go until our March Doodle Romp!  The weather forecast is calling for 60F and sunny!

 

-- Sunday, March 20th, 2:00pm at Bandy Park --

 

Just a few little notes:

•  **Please bring water for your dog(s).  Bandy does not have a water source**
• Directions and parking locations are below.  Please observe the "No Parking" signs on Bandy Rd.
• The park is huge, but not fenced.

Bandy is a very large (multiple football fields large) nature preserve near the University of Richmond.  The park is on Three Chopt Road, just south of Patterson Ave.  While it's not officially a dog park, there are always dogs there.  I think it's more of a dog park than any other type of park

 

Here's a map.  There are two places to park (marked with the blue cars):  Chandler Cir or Hanover Ave.   We'll meet in the back of the park (away from the road).  Just a heads up, there are no fences at the park, but it's so big, I've never seen anyone have any problems.

 

To get to Chandler Cir, take Patterson Ave to Ridge Top Rd.  Go about 0.5 mile and make a left onto Chandler Dr.  Take your 2nd left onto Chandler Circle.  Park on the street.  At the end of the cul-de-sac, there's an entrance on the right for the park.

I will TRY, but I used to go to Bandy every day with Bridget, then I got Chloe..Chloe, when off leash thinks she is allowed to RUN as fast as far as she can. She comes back when called, but sometimes its delayed. So the park scares me, and IF one of the other doodles is a runner, they will definitely link up to be partners in crime. Soooo, lots of thought needs to go in, BUT I've been wanting to return to Bandy as it was the site of many of my own social contacts...loved going there...

We met a member recently who told us about this group.  We will try to attend this romp...sounds like lots of fun! Are kids allowed?

Kids are certainly allowed.  Both the doodles and the kids end up having lots of fun.
