Well, finally got to talk with the Vet this afternoon.  Sophie had another overnight accident on Sunday night.  First one since she went on the meds almost 2 weeks ago.  She has also started to have some issues with her rear legs.  Seems to have a little trouble getting up.  Also a little shaky.  She is also just sort of in a daze, and it is difficult to get her to eat.   We are going to discontinue the current meds and she is going to the Vet tomorrow to spend the day so they can do some blood work and depending on the outcome of that they will decide the next steps.  The Vet is concerned with the rear leg issues and wants to do the tests for Addisons because should that be the case she doesn't want her getting into an Addisons crisis.  So, that will be the next thing she looks at.  Cushings is also a possibility and the Diabetes Insipidus is still on the table as well.  It is also possible that many of the current symptoms have been caused by the meds that she was on for the Inflammatory Bladder Disease.  So, just say a little prayer for her along with all the others on the prayers lists tonight that it is only the drugs causing these latest symptoms.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear this!  You must be so worried.  Sending many positive thoughts your and Sophie's way.  Hope the answer is clear and treatable.

I am so sorry to hear about Sophie and hoping you get some answers soon. I also hope it turns out to be an easily treated condition.

I will include Sophie in my prayers tonight. Hope you get some answers soon. So sorry you have all this worry!!

Oh Sheri, I'm so sorry to hear this. I do think the new symptoms could be from the meds; it happened to JD from one med he was given for his back, weakness in his back end, disoriented, etc. As soon as we stopped the meds it went away.

We are thinking of you both.  I hope you get some answers and it is something easily managed.

I really am hoping that it is from the meds, but if it is then I'm not sure where that leaves with with regard to the original bladder issue.  We considered taking her off the meds and waiting a few days to see how she does but Dr. Jenny was worried that we would be heading into the week-end at that point and she is going to be out of town and should it be Addisons she didn't want her have a crisis while she was out of town.  So she felt better about going ahead and testing to hopefully rule that out.

Could the original bladder issue not indeed be Diabetes Insipidus?

Yes, that is still on the table.  The problem is there isn't a test that confirms that diagnosis.  It is just a matter of elimination.

Lots of prayers for little Sophie. I pray they find the reason for all this and it is easily treatable and she feels better soon.
I'm sorry Sophie is still having trouble. I hope they can figure something out soon.

So sorry to hear about Sophie. Has your vet ruled out Lymes Disease? Sometimes it is hard to diagnose and duplicates symptoms of other diseases. The weak back legs is a common symptom with Lymes.

Thanks Barb, no, she hasn't said anything about Lyme's, but to my knowledge Sophie has never had a tick.  Will keep that in mind at the vet today though.

Some ticks are tiny and sneaky.
