Hi Jenn - Your guys look a lot like my guys (except for the white patch on your black food.) Casey is blond / cream and Cody is black. They are litter-mate brothers, but really don't look alike. Casey looks like I would describe as "a typical" doodle, while Cody looks (and acts) like a standard poodle. My guys are Fib, so they are ¾ poodle. I've have one co-worker who commonly asks how "salt and pepper" are doing. Someone told me the other day that I need another black one and could call them the "oreos." Whatever - they are SO much fun. But the thing that confuses me is that Casey LOVES to dig in the dirt, in the flowerbeds, in the yard, in the flowerpots, etc. Daily he comes in through the doggie dog with MUD literally up to his knees - just dripping mud. Thankfully, we do have a sunroom that is gated off from the rest of the house. The sunroom is THEIR room. Cody will just sit there and bark at Casey when he starts digging as if to say "you are going to get in SO much trouble!!" I simply cannot keep Casey clean. I thought that Cody was probably as dirty and you just couldn't see it since he is black - but no, that isn't the case. When I comb or bathe him, he is much cleaner than his pig-pen brother.
I took the boys to the groomer today. Brought Cody in first - everyone thought he was adorable. Then I told them that I was embarrassed to bring Casey in because he was so dirty. (Naturally, while I was getting ready this morning, he once again came in with mud up to his knees!) Guess they thought I was kidding! When we walked into the shop, they all started laughing like crazy. The groomer was laughing so hard I thought she was going to wet her pants! She called everyone to come see him. It was a mutual decision to cut him short and hope that as he ages, he will stop digging so much. How old is Brisby? My guys are almost 8 months old, so still very much puppies.
