For Those of You Who Need To Laugh

This is a cross post from a Blog written by Laurie, Fudge, and Vern

She often writes about Vern~ who has some scarey issues.  She can find humor in some of these situations. Here is hoping we can too.

Yeah, the thundershirt helps.... I started to think that Charlie was doing better and started to slack off...... My trainer said that whatever the dog does not/ cannot do, its our fault... yes, I know....

I just ordered a Thundershirt for Murphy.  The trainer had suggested that we try putting a backpack on him when we're out for walks where he'll encounter other dogs, and I do think it has helped with his stress.  I'm thinking the Thundershirt would work the same way...probably even better.

Oh, Kyoko.. I know how you feel!  Just when I think we're getting better... Tori has a freak session!  One time last week I felt like she could have a heart attack

Yesterday, Charlie and I attended the workshop at her dog school. there were so many dogs there, many of them she never met. Charlie acted like a maniac and barked her head off... It was so embarracing... :-(

On top of that, I forgot her thundershirt....

Bonnie, I agree. Please post this as a discussion. Let us know more about the dog sitters. Will Kona and the puppy be at the sitters? At home and the sitters where they will have the sitters stop in on them?

Bonnie, it will be easier for people to respond and offer help if you post this question as a discussion, rather than here in the "Comments" section.
Comment by Bonnie and Kona on November 26, 2010 at 8:43am
I'm a little confused and worried. Our golden retriever died in September. Kona, our goldendoodle, was the easiest going dog in the world until then. He is 3 1/2. He became very anxious, not wanting to let us out of his sight, shaking like a leaf in the car, just fretful. We decided it would be best to get another dog. In late October we brought home his 7 1/2 week old half brother. He did not like the puppy at first. That didn't seem too surprising. He stopped being so upset about us leaving him at home though. Now he tolerates the puppy pretty well but continues to be anxious over "nothing". Yesterday our adult daughter stayed home with him because she was sick. My husband and I took the puppy with us. Kona was a wreck, shaking and frantic. My big worry is that we are all scheduled to visit my parents for a week in December. We have a pup and this anxious dog to leave with dog-sitters. Any ideas how to help Kona get through this?

Thank you, that does help to know. I have to get him out to training. He is such a lover and so sweet I just can't give up on him!
