I was just wondering what traits do you think make your dog more poodle than doodle and if they are the same as mine. I think my doodle is more poodle, because she is smart and easy to train. My trainer doesn't even call her a doodle he refers to her as a poodle. He has said, "Labs are smart" but not that smart. She even skipped beginner training, She is also light on her feet and can jump up and over from a stand still position. I don't know, can Labs do that? That's why I say my doodle is more poodle.
I know mine is more poodle, because he is 3/4 poodle and only 1/4 golden retriever. He is also very intelligent, and would have curls if I didn't brush him out when I bathe him. He does however have the sweetness and docile nature of a golden retriever.
Mine is more poodle than doodle due to genetics, but also disposition and actions. My husband often jokes that their may have been a lab somewhere in her geneology, but he's not 100% sure that's so. He's actually not too far off because her tree only has one lab on it! She is also a clown dog that can jump super high! She runs like the wind and my Dad often says that she floats rather than walks. She also has that lean and long poodle body. I think she's too skinny, but I think it's just the poodle in her! Another thing is that she is almost too smart for her own good, but I love her to death!
Groucho Too looks like a huge poodle (30 inches tall and 90 pounds) with a long tail. His hair is not as curly as a poodle, but he has the poodle personality. He wants to continually be scratched or petted by anyone.
H Joan - I just looked at your page and oh my goodness Rags and Toby look lots alike! He is an f1b so is 60% poodle and 40% goldenretriever. He has the long legs, mostly wool coat a and narrow frame and is SO smart and fun.
Charlie is more of a poodle because of her built and coat type, I think.
She is a F1b, and her coat is mostly wool. She has long legs and slender built....
