As much as my heart is breaking, we need to find Buddy a good home.  With my husband disabled, he is just too much dog for us.  Does anyone know how I can go about this?

Our Buddy Boo has the short curly poodle fur and the curly tail but  hads the nose of a lab.  People always ask what kind of dog he is and when we tell them he is a labradoodle they are surprised.  Hey you people out there!  There are such things as labra poodles LOL

Sasha looks more like a poodle than a poodle does -LOL but she is a goldendoodle.  She has the coloring/markings of a golden retirever but face and hair of a poodle - she is very poodley and I lover her to bits !!! My Oliver is a labradoodle (dad=standard poodle, mom labradoodle). His hair is very curly but not as much as Sasha.  People ask me if he is a standard poodle too but his hair is much looser.  He is my good boy.  GREAT DOGS :)

Hi all!  This is our Labradoodle Maggie.  She is a service dog for my two autistic sons.  Ever since I started keeping her face shaved, people almost always mistake her for a poodle.  She's a wonderful dog that has been a huge help to the family.

You're right Ellen, I just did my own research and that's what the experts say. There was another discussion here that suggested the cross that I first mentioned was the only legit F1B. I'm glad you posted that.... Here I was thinking my girls were just really expensive mutts…lol. :)

I believe that the "B" in F1B actually stands for "Backcross" (experts please correct me if I am wrong), so an F1B, like I have, is actually a half and half, crossed with either a poodle or a golden retriever (or a lab in the case of a backcross Labradoodle).  So it is NOT, as I understand it, two doodles mated.

My girls are genetically more poodle but they look just like any other half and half. Penny's nose and ears are a little longer but Ginger is very doodle-ish. They are also both EXTREMELY smart...I mean scary smart. The poodle's ability to understand human language is very evident in both of them.  Some might argue that they are not really doodles because they are 75% poodle but a doodle is just a mix a of the two breeds. I don't think the percentage matters.  I don't think I can really call them F1b though. That would be the product of two half and half dogs. :)

My doodle is also an f1b and looks more like a poodle, except with a long tail.

Especially after she got a hair cut, Charlie looks like a straight up poodle. Often we hear a parents telling their kids "That is a chocolate Standard Poodle." about Charlie.
