DH just too Sage for a walk- in the new wet snow. He gave her a paper towel roll and she proudly carried it all through her walk. This kept her from eating the snow. Also focused her on the walk. I think we will save paper towel rolls from here on out! It's great to have a success!! She is getting better behaved every day. Thank you to everyone for their encouragement. The recent discussion Devil Dog is a great example.

I was surprised that Sage didn't wreck the paper towel roll. But the objective seemed to be carrying not wrecking- which is a very good thing. She came in the house carrying the paper towel roll and we had to tell her to drop it. It's so cute to see them so proud.

Toby too! If he can find something wonderful to carry on a walk, he behaves so well! It can be a stray glove lost by someone, a chocolate bar wrapper, a leaf, a stick....whatever. He will pick it up and proudly carry it all the way home. And since a tired dog is a good dog, we do a lot of walking. Someday I will clean my house again..... :)
You are too funny. Everything is off the open shelves and stuff (mostly Sage's stuff) is piled on the couch. I have big baking sheets blocking the wires and baskets in the corner. I can't wait to be able to go back to normal! BTW I have a friend whose husband made a wood top for their corgi's crate and they turned it into an end table!

LOL That is EXACTLY what we are doing with Gaston's crate! It's right next to my side of the bed and I miss my lamp! LOL They charge a small fortune for those end table/crates in the catalogs!

It's so funny you should mention the paper towel rolls! We found early on that Gaston loves them. He walks around the house with them, and TP rolls! He never chews them! If anyone ever walked into my house and saw all these empty TP rolls all around the house they'd think we had issues! LOL

I hope I get that "cleaning pass" quick! I have family arriving this afternoon for Thanksgiving and have puppy toys everywhere!!!!!!!! My house hasn't looked this toy filled since my little one was a toddler! LOL

I wouldn't trade it for the world! :)
The paper towel rills are fascinating. She just carries them. I would have thought she would rip them up. These dogs are really funny. She jumps up and down on her squeaky toys to make them squeak. I've never seen a dog do that. She also loves ice. And about the toys. We try to keep them down to just a couple so she can rediscover them later. So far the squeaky carrot and her genius genie bottle ( a soft toy that you fill with toys and she works to get them out) and a milk bone anniversary squeaky toy are her favorites. These little souls sure have us wrapped around their paws!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Ice - oh my. You'd think I gave him gold cubes. Toby loves nothing more than a good ice cube. Sometimes he eats it right away, sometimes he lays down with it, and other times he noisily chases it up and down the hall. He has a little stuffed squeaky guy he got when we picked him up from the breeder, and it's his favourite. He gets it out of his toy bin every morning, and knows how to bite down to make it squeak. I have toys, cow hooves, and blankies all over my main floor. My floors haven't been this much in need of an extensive cleaning in a long, long time. And yet, when he is mellow and crawls up into my knee (all 4 month old, 22 pounds of him) who can resist?
