Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I guess Puppy Madness is the place to post this discussion, but my puppy just reached another milestone today. He has been house trained for about a month and started sleeping in our bedroom on a foam pad and having total access to the house on Jan. 1. I usually take him out for a pee in the evening before we go to bed and also take him out in the middle of the night when I wake up and need to use the bathroom. Last night he went out for his evening pee at 8:30 and this morning he woke me up at 6:00 by coming over to my side of the bed and "clearing his throat". That's the only way I can describe it. I took him out immediately and he was just delighted that he could communicate with me.
Our first doodle used to communicate by coming over and huffing in my face. Our second doodle would come over and shake his head (and his tags). Now this doodle has figured out how to get my attention. I was wondering how we could train him to ask to go out. He decided to train me instead of waiting for me to train him.

Too cute!
Coco wakes me up by making a yawning sound right next to my head and then putting her paw up on the bed if I don't respond right off. I take her out and tell her to "get busy", she pees and then we go back to bed for a bit before we really have to get up for the day.
