Last night my husband and I took Gibbs out for a golf cart ride, like we have done many times. We have him on a leash always! For some unknown reason, Gibbs leapt out of the cart and we were probably going over 15 mph. I saw Gibbs hit the pavement and flip end over end about 4 times. My husband and I both jumped out of the cart and Gibbs jumps up and starts to run off, I call him and he comes and runs to me. I was in total shock of what had just happened to him. I was so shaken up and in tears. We got him home and we checked him out thank God, he was not hurt. I took him to the vet this morning, just to have him medically checked out and he was NOT injured. Feeling very blessed today.

Glad to hear everything turned out okay for Gibbs, and he wasn't hurt! I know how frightening seeing something like that can be. Just last week Oscar was running with Lucy in the back yard and he was paying more attention to her than to where he was running and ran right into a very heavy flower pot. I saw him go end over end onto the cement pavers. It was hard to believe he wasn't seriously hurt, but he wasn't. Lucky us!

That is very scary to see it happen right before your eyes and then can't believe that they didn't get hurt even a tiny bit. Glad Oscar is okay.
That's a great news. I am glad Gibbs is not hurt. :)
Aww. So glad he wasn't injured. Thank you for sharing. It just reminds us that they can be unpredictable.
They really are unpredictable. Gibbs was just sitting their calmly sniffing the wind and then he just leapt out. I am still upset over the whole situation, and how it could have turned bad.

Debbie ~ how scary for you guys and Gibbs too!  Is it possible you could hook him up in a seat belt so that cannot happen.  It would also give him more security.  Gibbs is sure a cutie!

Thank you, we think Gibbs is pretty special. Our golf carts aren't the ones that come with the seat belts, so we will have to try and devise something. When I take him by myself I sit on his leash and he doesn't have enough play in the leash to roam around.

So glad he was not hurt!  too scary, though

Oh my goodness! So glad everything is okay. Wonder why he took
the sudden leap?
We sure wish we knew. There was nothing, not another cart, car or animal, I guess he just had a crazy moment.

WOW, I'm just seeing this today...and so happy all is well!
