Oh my! I think you need some coffee!! The good news is the puppy will crash with you when festivities are over!
Hang in there- it will get better! The only thing that got me through the first couple of months of puppyhood was trying to see the humor in it all. Life goes by so fast. Before you know it, you will be looking back and saying, "remember that year we got a puppy right before Christmas....."
Our breeder told us to tough it out. Put towels in the crate and let him cry . It only took 2 nights. He wet in his crate, but then he slept through the night. He is 15 weeks old and sleeps until 7:30. No accidents at all! that is when I get up or else he would sleep longer. It is hard if other family members are around during the night though.
Yup, we were sleep deprived in the beginning with our pup, who is now 9 months old.
And we had forgotten about that, having not had a puppy since 16 yrs ago!
And no hormones pump in to save you like they did with a new baby. But it goes fast, as already mentioned by others...hang in there and vent here any time!
Yup. Having a puppy is al lot like having a baby. And like the baby the puppy will get past this waking up so often. Let him cry himself to sleep. You will be able to tell by the type of whine whether it is more than just wanting attention.
I found that Hurley slept through the night when we started letting him sleep on the bed with us. He was very restless all night long when in the kennel.
Hang in there. This will pass.
