Jack is the best puppy EVER!!

First dood for us and the first larger breed dog. We adore him already! The smartest most loving little guy ever. He is exactly what I wanted. Here he is at 12 weeks and 16 pounds. Isn't be handsome!?! I LOVE his chocolate nose, lips, and eyeliner. All of our other pets have always had the black features. ;).

Thanks everyone! Anyone have a doodle who as a puppy had a coat similar to Jack? So far he doesn't mat at all. Just a fluffy fur ball with loose curl. :) I dont plan on ever shaving him and I am gathering all my supplies to groom him myself. I got the CC T brush and buttercomb, the Andis 2 speed clippers, and the air bear dryer. Can not decide on shears though. There are some CC original that are on clearance or to go with the Ed Geib set. Any advice? I've combed through the grooming group and googled but still can't decide.

The matting, if it comes, will be later on when his puppy coat changes to his adult one. The matting is caused by the puppy coat needing to come off but getting 'stuck' in the new coat. The puppy coat has to be brushed/combed or cut out.

We brush-then comb every day NOW just to prepare for those days with the coat change. I think he will have some curl but not super curly. We'll see. I do notice some tangles already though even brushing everyday. His coat is so soft and fuzzy-about 2 1/2 inches. He is content to lay on our wide ottoman in front of my chair for grooming while I watch tv. I actually do my Yorkie first and he sits beside the chair waiting his turn!! I tell ya he is the best puppy I've ever had!
