Oliver has been going on our balcony on grass.
He's 12.5 weeks old & 10lbs

I want to buy him a harness, and not just a regular neck collar, for when we take him outside after his shots in a few weeks.

I was just about to pull the trigger in the easy walk harmess as I've heard some great reviews - BUT - isn't this a harness for pullers?

I don't know if he is yet. And not sure if I should get this or something's else.
I've also heard that it can chafe, irritate & cut them - so not sure.

What say you guys?
Is the easy walk a good everyday harness - or on,y for bug pullers?

Enzo wears an Easy Walk harness when we are out and about. We've never had an problems with chafing, irritation, or cutting. Of course, getting it to fit just right is the key! The leash does hook on the front to deter pulling. Enzo has learned pulling is not acceptable, and we still and will continue to use it.
Ditto as Ro. Yogi doesn't pull, I just like the way it hooks around him. No problems with irritation to skin, but we only leave it on for walk or car rides

I also have the Easy Walk Harness and love it. Only problem I've had is his fur matting where it touches him. But, IF I keep up on the grooming it's fine. I also have a Halti (similar to the gentle leader that goes around their snout) and even though I've seen other dogs not have a problem with them, my dog STILL dislikes it.  I use that one once in a while, when we're going somewhere crowded and/or unknown places because it gives me extra control over my 1 y.o. who's 55lbs. But for the most part I do use the easy walk harness for everyday, and my dog is a big puller and if he wasn't, I probably wouldn't have gotten it.

I have another puppy who's 2 y.o. and much better behaved. She is not a big puller and I use a Puppia harness for her. It works great. My only gripe is getting it on and off is awkward because you have to put it over their head like a shirt rather than straps and clips.

Since your puppy is still so little, you could probably get him any type of harness you like for now. You'd have to eventually get a bigger harness as he grows anyway, and if you're not having a problem with him pulling then any harness would work.

Just the opposite, I've found.  The easy walk harness is better for pullers since it hooks in the front - we've had no chaffing, cutting or irritation.  Also, after trying several 'back' connected harnesses (puppia is one), I found that those tended to encourage pulling.  I feel that the easy walk is much gentler.  Zoe is just now 9 months and we still use the easy walk.  I'm a big fan of the easy walk and would recommend.

Recently my dood's Easy Walk collar was MIA and I took him to daycare with a neck collar.  He was like a different dog, and not a good one!  I think they are great, have no problem with matting since we do not leave it on unless he is out of the house.  He also has a neck collar for the electric fence with his tags, but we don't leave that on either, unless he is outside.

If you do get one while Oliver is in the chew-all phase, watch that he does not get his mouth under the chest part.  Quincy chewed thru his first one while we were on a walk!.  However, if you call the company, they will replace for a minimal amount.

Thanks guys - I ordered one.
