Just this week I discovered a raw food co-op in my town. I checked out the co-op web page, and they say their food is  made by Blue Ridge Beef. The prices are ridiculously cheap, and when I inquired about where the meat was from / how it was sourced, the co-op leader told me the food was great, and none of the clients have ever complained. (Didn't answer the question.) I looked online and found almost no information on the Blue Ridge website about where they source their meat. More searching found people praising and trashing the company. (Lack of transparency is the number one complaint.) Has anyone here ever tried it? I love the idea of a more affordable commercial raw, but my gut tells me that the prices are too low. That it can't possibly be high quality. Love to hear thoughts if anyone here has any. Thanks!

I wouldn't consider their products in any case because I feed my dog whole chunks of meat - good for the gums and teeth, which ground meats products do nothing for. I don't see any reason to feed raw if it's going to be ground.

Thanks, Trudy. Normally I feed the ground meat partially frozen so that Lexi has to really work at it. But I see your point. We started with chicken thighs, and while she didn't know what to do with them at first, she now really loves them. Now to figure out which meat to experiment with next. The good news, her ears have never been clearer, and her fur has never been softer.

Thanks Olga, I missed the deadline this month, but it is good to know. I can definitely see how the meat is good for the dogs' brains. Unfortunately I don't have any place to feed my dog outside, so I'm constantly trying to prevent her from dragging a piece of meat into my living room. Which affordable cuts of meat do you buy of other meats? Everything not ground that I saw at my local Wegmans (aside from chicken) was quite expensive.

Just a suggestion.  I would block off an area for your dog to eat and then put down cardboard, etc if you need to keep it off your floor.  I feed my dogs food frozen...always frozen.  Believe me, it never thaws before it's gone!
