Does anyone else think they just HAVE to cut their doodle's hair, the dog is looking a mess, hard to brush, dirt, sticks, leaves, basically a rag mop but a mop would have more shape - so they get out the scissors/clippers and start cutting.  A couple hours later, you step back, look at the dog and think WHAT have I done?!?!

I gave Charlotte a haircut last night for all the reasons stated above.  Honestly, it was also motivated by pride because my 11 yr old daughter, Julianna, is starting a dog obedience class with Charlotte this evening.  I wanted Charlotte to look a little more "kept" and less organic :-)  When I finished last night, I thought that she looked pretty good, this morning I'm missing the curls.  Maybe I could have spent more time brushing, etc.   It's like the doodle groomer version of buyer's remorse.

Do you all ever feel this way or are you always happy with the results?  Just wondering.....

lol, yes, with me and the dog...and the kids :-)

At least you do the cutting.  My remorse is only a small part from the loss of curls.  It is a large part from the shaking dog I leave at the groomers who comes home and pathetically and compulsively licks his paws and shaved privates for a week.

Oh - poor boy!!  I have to say, Charlotte seems unaccustomed to the cold air under her tail.  She keeps dropping into a sit as though she's afraid she's being immodest.

As far a shaking, I was the one shaking while she was on the table - lol!

Oh, poor Charlotte with a cold behind :-)

YES! This exact thing happened to me this week. Darwin was SO long and it was getting to be such a task. I knew I needed to cut him down, but I was putting it off because I knew my clippers were broken. Finally I just got fed up and used some sharp scissors to chop it all off. The end result was REALLY choppy and I totally panicked. Luckily it blended a little more after bathing and drying him, and it should be even better in a week or so. It always grows back, right?

Aw, he looks so handsome and mature here.  Like a wise man-dog.  Adorable.
I think he looks cute!  You probably notice all the choppy spots more than anyone else does - I know I'm my own worse critic.  I think he looks like he's ready to give a speech :-)

Here's how Charlotte looks.  I like her better now - the remorse has passed - and I think she looks pretty good.  She seems happy with the new 'do, also.

Is this the baby Charlotte??  She has gotten so big!!
Yep, 8 months old and 45 lbs but still just a little thing compared to 83 lb Webster  :-)
Wow, she looks amazing!
