Janet Young, you should have Sherri add you to the fb page so you can find Sophie's siblings and have the support of even more Smeraglia customers!  It's a great group!

Just adding to the family - Baxter is really cute - hope ours will look as well as yours.  Will send pics when the litter arrives - we have a girl.  We are naming her Sophie.  My grandkids couldn't come up with any name I liked - so I picked it.  Keep in touch!

Janet Young, my Baxter is Oscar's littermate and will be your puppy's uncle!

Thanks for your answers - funny to hear about the changes in the coat and the final product. We are on the litter for Pumpkin Oscar who should be here on 6/25. We should have her by late September and excited. We go to a rental house in the Hamptons and didn't want to start training a new pup in another house than our own. Love your line about grandma sleeping with rollers. Have the visual. Will keep you posted when she arrives. Seems I have been thinking about this for a while and reading all the posts makes me feel more educated.!

Janet, sorry for slow reply but haven't been on here for a while. We did one week of prep-school, mainly because I was away when pups could be collected. But was amazed at how much she had learned during that 1 week!

Our Zoe was born with a straight coat, but as an F1B I felt comfortable she wouldn't be a true straight coat. By 4 weeks the waves could be seen. At 10 weeks she seemed to outgrow her hair - she got bigger but her coat was the same, so it seemed thinner and shorter. Not at all like the fluffy pups one often sees. Then she started getting her adult coat on her back. Looked like my grandma did after sleeping with rollers in her hair - line upon line of rolled hair. At 4 months her socks grew, and with the curly up-do and fluffy socks she reminded me an awful lot of 80's aerobics babes. Then the hair on her head and in her face grew out in a wild manner - like some tribute to grunge!

It's been a hilarious evolution, but having met many doods that went through similar evolution I'm confident she'll end up with the shaggy look I was aiming for, with a pretty manageable coat less prone to matting.

Thx Katherine. I think I send you a message on Facebook. We r definitely looking forward to our new puppy. We go east for summer to escape Texas heat and thought we would wait until we returned to start the training process. Did you send your dog to Prep School? Curly, wavy or wavy straight coat? Will have to see what they will breed. Smeraglia people are amazing. Already spoke to them and they told me to call back late May to figure it out. thanks for your help!

Janet, Congratulations!! I was very impressed with everything I read about Smeraglia. When our puppy was 6 weeks we went to visit the breeder and was then even more impressed. Our Zoe is such a balanced and sweet dog - can't praise Smeraglia enough on both their approach to breeding (personality #1) and the wonderful nurturing Zoe must have received while there.
I'd really encourage you to sign up to Smeraglia's Facebook Group - very active, and really nice to get to know more "family members".

Sent app and awaiting to find out what parents of my goldendoodle will be?  Should be some time in September.  Like reading all the posts of training and other issues.  Thanks for sharing

OMG!  What a cutie!  Love the markings!  I would really love to get another doodle, but a parti.  Heck, I'd have a dozen if I had the space and could afford it.  Anyway, take a look at  a sheepadoodle just for kicks.  They are a bigger dog than I prefer, but I think they are equally as cute as doodles.  Shaggy Bottoms is the breeder.

Shelley, welcome! I went to your page and loved the pics you have of Tanner.  Looks like he has a lot of personality.

I was actually at Smeraglia last week. My very positive impression of them got even better by visiting! We got to meet the puppies, who were then 6 ½ weeks. Funny how quickly we went from seeing them as a cute pack of puppies to appreciating each for their individual personality. Glad we went, as we fell completely in love with the personality of two of them. Good thing for me the entire flock is sold or I would have bought two puppies that day! Here is the little girl we have as our first choice. 24th January I get to pick her up! Can't wait any longer!!
