I am a retired teacher. We waited until I could be home with the pups to get our dogs. I taught 28 years, the first 8 as a teacher of the educable mentally handicapped then lang. arts and social studies. I ended my career as the technology integration specialist at a middle and elementary school.

Hi, I'm a teacher's aide. Is it OK if I join too? I've been an aide for 13 years.I worked in a Life Skills classroom for almost 8 years. Then I worked in a first grade inclusion classroom for over 4 years. Now I work in a regular ed. Kindergarten classroom.

I taught Pre-School for years before being a SAHM, and have recently gone back to work and am now a Program Director of an Early Learning Center. Animals and kids are the love of my life!!!

Hello all! I am a 2nd year teacher currently teaching remedial reading to middle school students (6th, 7th, and 8th grade) but I will be teaching high school language arts next year.

I am so excited to find this group! I'll be getting my first dog in 12 years in June: a standard goldendoodle from Teri of goldens-n-doodles.com.

I am wondering if this group should be renamed to people who work in education - with a much catchier name. I have met people here who are librarians, teaching assistants, buyers, secretaries - all in the schools. It seems like there is a school employee bond that we all feel no matter what position we hold. What do you think?

I want to introduce myself. I am twenty year teacher, I teach in Redwood City (near San Francisco). I teach fourth grade. I love this age. I currently teach language arts and social studies. Nancy was amused to hear that I will be teaching a multi age enrichment class on Dogs this trimester.

I am in the delightful category of "retired teacher" but a teacher nonetheless. Actually, I substitute up to three times a week (as needed). Today I am doing EDC (Extended Day Care) after school. Ahhh, playing with the kids outside on a warm afternoon or doing orgami. Now that's my kind of teaching!
