This came on Google + today as a top 3 post for me. If true it's amazing and I have no reason to believe it's not.

* Human eyes are composed of more than 2 million working parts.
* Our human eye is 576 mega pixel !!!
* Corneas are the only tissues that don't require blood.
* Human eyes can process 36,000 bits of information every hour.
* The eyeball of a human weighs approximately 28 grams.
* Colour blindness is 10 times more common in males than females.
* It is impossible to sneeze with eyes open

Here  I thought, color blindness was ONLY in  males.  Interesting.

I find it fascinating ( not mentioned in this article) that females and males see completely different in many ways, such as color, due to the different amount of rods and cones.

I didn't know that. I often wonder if we all see things differently. Before and especially after cataract surgery these musings came along.

F, I do not remember having to memorize 2 million parts of the human eye in anatomy class, do you?

Are they talking about rods and cones, do you think?

The sneezing thing, I learned from Superman comic books. :)

I could never have memorized so many things but I guess if each rod and cone etc. counts it could get to big #s.

Fascinating stuff!  I was having lunch one time with a friend and her 7 year old daughter.  The little girl suddenly realized she couldn't stop blinking and became hysterical.  "I can't stop blinking!!!"  It was funny, I guess, but we had to leave the restaurant and spend some time assuring the child that it was perfectly normal to just 'keep on blinkin.'
