Do your New Year's Resolutions include your doodles? You know; exercise, diet and all that stuff? My doodles sometimes are the only reason I get any exercise. But since having them I actually enjoy walking and find I miss it if for some reason we can't get out. I already feed them very healthy food but could probably do better with treats. They are at good weights and muscle tone. It's myself that needs to take a look at what I'm eating and get my weight down and work on muscle tone! I really have my doodles to thank for the increase in my exercise level this year so my resolution is to look for more ways to have active fun with the doodles.

I completely understand. If it weren't for Cody I probably wouldn't get any exercise if it weren't for Cody. Actually, we've been fostering another dog for about a month now, so Cody's been playing and running with him and isn't all that energetic anymore. I'm finding it harder to motivate myself to get out with him...especially since he's so cute when he sleeps. I can't wait for warmer weather when I can take him swimming!
I'm excited for warmer weather to go swimming together too! I'm much more active with my doodles in warmer seasons than in winter.
My resolutions do include my doodle Tyson. He always has so much energy, and even though I think I do a pretty good job of keeping him entertained both mentally and physically, I guess there is always room for improvement. One thing we don't get to do very often, particularly in the wintertime, is go to the dog park, so I have resolved that I am going to make sure we get over there more frequently!
My resolution was to go to the gym during my lunch. But it never happended... Instead, I have been going home to take Charlie to the park. Because of the weather, her morning and evening walk has been cut short ( Well, rather, because I am cold...) and I feel guilty of it. During the mid day, it is not so bad. So she and I go to the snow covered baseball field to play snow ball fetch! I am getting exercise any way, right?

Hi guys, great post.  I tried to start a group for OWNERS who want to get or stay fit and how we would use our doods to help us accomplish our goals.... but I guess Adina thought it might be too similar to this group.  I really want to make this year count.  I thought it would be fun to encourage each other and even have weekly challenges if we wanted to.  I was going to call my group, "Good for me, Good for you".

My girls love to run.  They have more energy on one walk than I could muster up in a week...lol, I thought I could put that to good use.  I promised my niece that I would run a 5k with her in May......I have some work to do...Anyone interested in a little accountability?

Actually, Butter was reason for me to start exercise too. When he was 4 months old, I walked with for about less than 1 mile everyday. Gradually, as he grew up, we increased distance and speed, and winters never stopped us. After he was 18 months old, I started to ride a bicycle with for 3 times a week for less than 3 miles each time in addition to the usual walk of 2 miles once or twice a day everyday. Over 1 years ago, instead of riding a bicycle, I started jogging with him. The longest distance we covered in a single time was about 7 miles in 70 minutes. I also compliment my daily walk/jogging with strength training for myself for about 3 times a week. The end results are he kept his fitness level, and I lost a lot of lbs and bully fat.

Hope more people will join in this group.

Look at butter's legs, he has great muscles.
