Anyone know where I can buy pumpkin?

 

I got my puppy in October and he had digestive issues that turned out to be giardia. He's fine now but in the process I started giving both of the dogs pumpkin and yogurt. I would like to keep doing this but I can't seem to find pumpkin anymore. Ideas?

wow, it is right there in the grocery store a-plenty here. Are you sure your local store didn't just relocate it? :)

One of the best things to do is stock up on it right after Thanksgiving (when it's on sale and easy to find!). But for now, you might want to visit a specialty pet store that sells high quality foods. There are a few brands of pumpkin canned especially for  dogs (though they're a bit more expensive than the ones you'd get for human consumption at the grocery store). Failing that, it's pretty easy to find canned sweet potato or canned butternut squash (check Whole Foods, etc.) which are also great for them. We also give our dog a small scoop of one of those canned veggies every day and she loves it.

Someone suggested to me last week that I order it from Whole Foods, which I did, although it hasn't come in yet. They don't have the 365 brand anymore, but some organic brand called Farmer's Market I think, You buy it by the case.

You can also order it by the case from Amazon.com and if you spend $25, the shipping is free.  They ship anywhere in the US.  I was able to get several cases from them during the summer when no one had any pumpkin.

NO, don't get Libby's....it's pumpkin pie mix...you want canned pumpkin, organic if you can...not spiced or pie mix. They sell Farmer's Market as well.

12 cans of Farmers Organic pumpkin for $16.00 with free shipping is available on Amazon.  Whole Foods said they would order the 365 pumpkin, but the warehouse is out-of-stock so I ordered from Amazon. Good deal, plus I don't have to lug it home...
