Dick Van Patten's Natural Balance

The CEO of PETCO (who adopted one of our foster doodle rescues) recommends Dick Van Patten's Natural Balance food.  He stated that many of the other premium food producers have been bought by large consortiums and have reduced the quality of the food they distribute.

I feed Bexter Natural Balance Synergy.  He has done really well with it.  His poops are perfect.  It is one of the recommended food brands according to the DK food group.

That's one of the foods my local pet store recommends as well. I tried Lachlan on it, but sadly he couldn't digest it properly. That's not to say there's anything wrong with the food at all - just that Lachlan has a Dainty Little Princess stomach.

Natural Balance is on our Recommended List; some of the formulas are a little too low in protein. The Synergy line is better.

While it is true that some quality foods have been bought out by large corporations, most notably the Natura products (EVO, Innova, Natural Balance), Petco does not carry many of the foods we recommend, such as Fromm, Orijen, Acana, TOTW, and several others. The foods this gentleman is talking about are the lower level brands like Nutro, Iams, Eukanuba, etc. and while many people may think of those as "premium" foods, we do not. :)
