My pup (20 months old) needs something to chew on and keep him busy when I just can't throw one more ball!

I have seen those dog bones in the pet store - the ones that look like they have been roasted - but they look a little scary! Any suggestions for something that is healthy, safe...and will keep him busy for a while??

thanks....

Beef tracheas are a good choice, too.
Buddy loves his Antlerz (brand name). We actually got him either a large or extra large and he has had it for a couple months now. THe only thing I need to watch out for is when he carries it around and then just drops it...he has dropped it on my foot once or twice...ouch! :) We tried the bully sticks and it gave Buddy the runs.
Not a big bone fan here.....Banjo LOVES LOVES LOVES antlers. No smell and last a long time.
Sasha is a heavy chewer...and she loves the antlers.
I never saw the split antlers...but I do buy the large antlers for her from a nearby Pet Store that sells them.
You can probably look on line for a Pet Store near you that carries a lot of organic items...etc. They will often carry items like antlers.
Of course...they are easy to buy on line too...but...if I can purchase them locally...it makes it easier.
I tried the bully sticks for Sasha...only once!
Although she "Loved" the taste...they didn't sit well with her...and her urine turned a very dark yellow and had an awful smell to it! (sorry for the terrible description...ugh!)
Anyway...that was the end of bully sticks for Sasha! Lol...
oh my goodness! I gave Magic the antler about an hour ago - and he hasn't looked up - except to make sure this is REALLY for him!! So far there isn't even a dent in it....these are fantastic!
Awww - I love that look! Antlers are my favorite of all the chew toys.
I know what you mean...
The first time I gave one to Sasha...she didn't look up for an hour or so either!! Lol...
Pure Bliss...and...to know that they are good for her and won't splinter...well...to me...it just doesn't get any better than that!
Actually...Sasha has one in her mouth right now...and she is a very Happy Doodle!!
So glad Magic likes them Cynthia...
I like the bones filled with apple peanut butter. They sell them at petsmart. They keep them busy for a while but if your dood is a heavy chewer they might break in half, other than that they are very safe. Just like with any other bone, don't leave them unsupervised. These are the ones that Huff gets. http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4290907
There are also these things called the Everlasting Treat Ball. There are these round cookies and you put them in a side of the Everlasting Treat Ball. That will keep a dood busy for a while.:) They love it too. I get the chicken flavored treats, not liver. My dad hates liver.:) They are very durable. They are a little pricey but worth every cent. This is what I am talking about: http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2750985
So glad to hear some feedback on the Everlasting Treat Ball.
I look at them everytime I go to Pet Smart...but I wasn't sure if they would be good or not??
I think I'll try them for Sasha the next time I'm there.
Thanks for letting us know about them...
You are very welcome.:) When you try them, will you tell us how the work out for you?
yes....I keep seeing these in Petsmart and was curious about them . Now I will give them a try...thanks for doing the taste test !
I would not use the Dentley's bones. They contain artificial flavor and colors, including red dye #40, and they are imported. Marrow bones from the butcher are all natural and better for your dog. You can stuff them yourself.
