Hi....

Was just at the local Pet & Companion Fair today and came across this food that I'm not familiar with...thought I'd run it by the experts.  It's called N&D (Natural & Delicious)

http://www.farmina.com/?q=en/content/line/nd-grain-free-canine

What's the thought - yay or nay?

Thanks

It appears to be an Italian company, with only two distributors in the U.S., one in CA and one in MN.

It looks like a good product, but I'd need more info. The info on the website is kind of sketchy. For one thing, I can't tell if this is a raw product or not.

If you can get it, it looks fine, but I don;t think I would add them to our list, with such limited availability.

Yes, there is actually local distributor here in the Portland, OR area.  He feels (of course, this is his own opinion) that it's actually better than Orijen and Acana.  It's very slightly cheaper than either one of them.  This is NOT a raw product, this is kibble.  They also have a Facebook page under Farmina USA.

I had trouble finding any clear nutritional analysis, but I have yet to see any kibble better than Champion's. :)

That was my opinion when he started talking about it.

Is this the kind of information you're talking about when you say "nutritional analysis"?  http://www.farmina.com/?q=en/content/product/boar-apple

Well, that's what passes for it on the Darmina website, but I want the protein, fat and fiber percentages, Omega 6 and 3 content and ratio, etc. I don;t speak Italian, but I do understand most of what they are listing and that's not it, lol.

Here's the info from Orijen's site:

Just following up on this since I am intrigued by this product.  Found a brochure with some info:

Yes, this provides the nutritional analysis and it looks very similar to Orijen. I'd say if you can get it and want to try it, it would be fine.

I've got a couple of sample bags, and currently I'm just using the kibble as a treat (they are pretty good size) and all 3 dogs love it....maybe because they think it's a treat... ha.  I know that Chewy.com carries it, I think that it'll take a bit for it to make it's way into the stores on a widespread basis.  The distributor that I talked to said that it's from Italy...

Yes, Italian owned and made, with most of the ingredients from Italian sources. Very much like Orijen's model, indeed.

Rita,

I also live in Portland. If you happen to know, can you tell me where N & D is sold?

Thanks!

Hi Tina....I believe that I've seen it at Pets on Broadway, you might call them.  I've seen it in a couple of places up here in Vancouver as well.

Thanks, Rita.

I live close to Pets on Broadway and I'll give them a call to check.

Enjoy your weekend!
