I'm just catching up. That's so cool that Oprah's producer got a puppy from Christine! She has great puppies. I know they'll be thrilled with their choice.

Wow That is great!! But her puppies are beautiful so it doesn't surprise me. I wouldn't be surprised if she talked about her producer's puppy. Especially now with the Obamas looking at goldendoodles. That would be great. If you hear anything, let us know.

WOW!! That's cool. I saw Oprah show on Friday and she did a memorial for her chocolate cocker spaniel - just died a couple of weeks ago - old age issues. I wonder if Oprah will talk about her producers new puppy. Do you know if it was an available puppy or if it is a deposit? That's very cool. But of course we know how special Christine's dogs are, don't we! So, I have to ask, were you talking to Christine about another puppy???? hmmm?

Hi Lisa. Hudson does scratch and has for quite a while. It is usally concentrated around his neck, but it never goes on for long and when I look at the areas I have not found any bumps or marks on the skin area when he is scratching so I am not doing anything about it at this time. I do stay away from beef products though because this does seem to be the biggest allergy cause in canines. That amazes me because you would think beef would be the most natural. I'm wondering if the itching isn't part of "growing pains". The reason I say that is the itching being concentrated around neck and mouth - is it from the teeth coming in/falling out? He loves me to massage his mouth. Not sure. I'm keeping an eye on it to see if it starts looking like allergies. His food is a fish base, no grain and no additives so hoping not allergies. I am chuckling about the yard situation for you. I never did use the bells for training. I tend to leave my back patio doors open during nice weather so Hudson always had opportunity to go in and out. Now he sits at the patio doors to go out but doesn't bark or anything....never messes thankfully, but I have to figure out how to get him to tell me to go out. Maybe not too late to train with the bells. I've never had this problem with previous dogs. Hudson loves to just lie in the middle of my backyard and chew on sticks or branches that he has removed from a tree. He will stay outside by himself for a long time and just play. He also does that inside the house with his toys. He will run around finging his toys in the air playing. I don't leave Hudson out during the day when at work. I have a dog walker come in at lunch and take him for a walk so he is still in the crate when I'm not home. However, on the weekends, if I am going grocery shopping or just running out for a couple of hours, I am leaving him loose in the house. The only thing I do is close off my bedroom doors - that is the rooms he used to have his occassional accidents in so just keeping that out of his head. He does fine for those few hours. There is no panic in him and is doesn't do anything bad. His toys are usually scattered around the house and he is standing in the front entrance looking out the window at me - I think he hears the garage door open and has figured out that means me. After Christmas I will probably start having he dog walker leave him out for the afternoon until I get home to start getting him used to that. It will mean about 4.5 hours loose. Its a gradual process that I have always used with my dogs and it seems to gradually build up their confidence.
If I get another Doodle, it would definately be a Paw Pad, but I would want another bigger one - love the little guys but I've always been a big dog person. And I think black or the parti color if Christine ends up doing that line. I'm eally enjoying Hudson though and want to keep it just him and I for awhile. Please keep me updated on the itching - I'll do the same with you.

Hi Terri - I agree with you about how much our pups look alike. I'd love to see them together - maybe at a doodle romp in the future. Hudson's coat changed so much in the one week I was away. He is more "toasted marshmallow" as Sarah says than the creamy color he was and the coat is getting very thick along his back top line. And the tail is getting really thick too. I'm still finding lots of teeth around the house and I am seeing holes in his mouth where new teeth need to come in. I sure can't believe how loving this puppies are. Hudson loves to cuddle with me when I get home from work - just 5 minutes and then he wants to eat and play and then walk time etc. I agree with your comment that these paw pad puppies are addictive. I've already thought about getting another one but being single and not having a lot of support in Toronto, I think 1 dog will be good for now. If and when Christine starts breeding the Parti Poodles she added to her breeding program, I may change my mind and get another one. Time will tell. The last time I was like this was when I was about 20 and got my first Alaskan Malamute. Next thing I knew I had 8 dogs and had a dog sled, lived outside of the city and even had a couple of litters of puppies. One is good for now, One is good for now - this is my new mantra!

Sarah, I am killing myself laughing reading your update. Hudson also has some very strange "fears". He absolutely loves playing with other dogs and is not shy about jumping in to play. BUT, if he hears a dog barking that he can't see (my neighbor's dog barks all the time), he comes running back into the house with his ears straight back and tail between his legs! Last night, we were out for our walk and a dog started barking somewhere, he pretended it didn't bother him, but he started walking really fast and again his ears were planted back against his head and he kept looking back at me. He loves leaves flying across the yard but is scared of paper flying in the wind....Who knows what is going on in their brains. It just makes me laugh.

Have a great trip - you will see a huge difference in Gibson- I couldn't believe Hudson in just 1 week. Mostly in the coat - I guess that is what is changing the most right now.

Hi Lisa! I hope Lexie is o.k. I've just returned from a week holiday. Hudson grew alot in that week - I can't believe it. And his coat is really starting to change. I'll post some pics over the next week. I'm including a link for all of you if you are interested. This is the online photo album that my dog sitter has - she takes pics of the dogs she cares for so that the owners can see how the pups are doing. Hudson had a great time but he is very clearly happy to be home. I wondered how he would react but it is obvious that the bond between him and I is already very strong. He got home this morning and curled up beside me on the sofa for a long nap - head on my lap. All is well in both our worlds once again. (http://babula.myphotoalbum.com/albums.php) Enjoy the photos - if you are all interested - my bouvier is also still on this album - Buford, but his pics are close to the end of the album.

Hi Terri and Lisa, I just posted some new pics of Hudson on my page. He is growing like a weed. That little wart in his mouth is now gone - it lasted almost exactly 2 months. He is now 36 lbs and I think most of that is his feet. I can't believe how big his feet are. Last weekend was Thanksgiving Weekend in Canada and it was absolutely beautiful weather. I had 3 days to enjoy long walks through the hiking trails in the conservation area behind my home. There is a beautiful clean river that is stocked with trout going through this conservation area and I take Hudson down there to play by the water. He is fascinated by water but doesn't go in. Now this water is very cold so that could be part of it...are either of your dogs really into water or swimming? Have they had the chance to experience that yet? I haven't had any issues with Hudson trying to grab anything off of the counter, but maybe cause he hasn't figured that out yet. He is a male after all! The girls tend to have brain power a lot sooner. I'm going down to Tucson the first week in November so Hudson will be going to my Dog sitters. I've actually been taking him there 1 day per week as day care. He comes home exhausted because there are other dogs there that he plays with. Its good socialization for him and gives me a break in the evening. I forgot how busy puppies are - it can be really tiring sometimes. Good catching up with you guys.

Thanks Lisa! That is exactly what I was told also. I've had so many dogs in my life and this was the first time I have seen this. Odd that both of our puppies had them. Thanks for the info!
