I've brought my digital camera along to capture some great shots of Malibu and her patients, doing her tennis ball therapy. With a few extra minutes to download, edit and 1 hour photo processing, you can make some great pictures for the patient and their family to remember their loved one's having fun. A quick trip to the dollar store for some frames makes them complete. After a few visits you start to get to know the patients and their families, and I'll sometimes make extra prints for the family too. Through Walgreens, a simple 4x6inch print is 18 cents, plus the 1$ frame, it's an inexpensive way to make someone's day.

Mailibu's pictures are great! You can tell she brings great joy to the patients. I love taking pictures of Leo and giving them away. Your idea about framing them and giving them to the patients is a good idea! I can't wait until we can start going out and doing this, as we just passed the TDI test and are anxiously awaiting our return paperwork.
I have done this before, but printed them myself. It meant so much to the families. I also made a CD for the recreation deptment so they could use the pics on their bulletin board. It's like an advertisement for your next visit.
Thank you so much, she does love it and finally comes home as a very tired puppy.
I am often taking photos for all areas of my life, however some of the places I go to are very strict with needing written approval by the patient's legal caretaker before they would allow it. My therapy group was trying to put together a photo book, but it was even harder to be able to take a photo and show it to anyone without written permission.
I'll ask the patients if they want their picture taken first, and so far all have said yes. They look forward to getting their framed pic's, so I"m fortuante that way. They all want to see who got their pictures for the week, it's quite cute to see them sharing and admiring the shots. Most of the seniors are pretty able minded and don't have many legal caretakers. I've seen one so far that needs one, but doesn't! lol
