Tracking, Fall Leaves, and Some Fun

Alright everyone.  We have all worked really hard with training this year and it is time for some fun.

This is our game of the week in our home.   Throw the ball  or favorite toy into a pile of leaves~~ we use a Chuck It, from far away so he is in fetch mode, and teach the command, "Find It"

This is simple, great for the ball obsessed dog, or toy driven.  It does not work on Starlit who is not so much toy oriented but it works great with Spud. He is SO PROUD

Hey, I see that Nancie is accepting leaves this year for Gracie to play in so you might get in touch with her!!! LOL!  We are fortunate to have a neighbor with 1/4 lot next to ours who doesn't mind if we put our leave on his property. He uses them for compost!  But we also have free curbside pickup here in Medford if we bag them. Does Portland have that service?

Silly me--forgot to say how adorable Gracie is, and how we'd love to have her come and play in our leaves!  Ricki, we don't have a free curbside pickup.  But lordy!  If you bag up 14 trees worth of leaves--sorta mind-boggling!  We do have a free yard debris pickup--one can every two weeks, which would take a really long time to get rid of the leaves.  :)

That's hysterical that you blow Spud with the leaf blower!!!!   LOL!!!!!    He is so CUTE!!!    I just want to snuggle him!    Loved the video AND the music Joanne!    And great idea for a game of fetch!

My DH finally blew our leaves into a huge pile this week! Last night we played ball with Tara by tossing the ball into the leaves! OMD! She LOVED it!!  She would fly into the pile and just disappear!! All I could see was a tail wagging!! It was close to dusk so no video this time but I am hoping to get another chance at it. Judging from the number of leaves still in the trees I WILL!

Oh, and one other thing came out of it! I discovered the "official" name of Tara's coat color: Dead Leaves!  She matches them exactly! LOL!  Thanks for the great idea!
