Comment by Elizabeth on March 24, 2014 at 11:32am: My little guy, Gunnar is from Rusty and Lexi's litter last summer! I had a bit of a tough time potty training Gunnar also, but I discovered that a bell works great! I found a training bell that you hang on the door at the local groomer. While training him, we always made sure to have him ring the bell before he went outside (by guiding his paw or using his nose). Then when he came back in, he always got rewarded with a treat. Not long after introducing it, Gunnar was ringing the bell every time he needed to go outside! Whenever we are away from home we take the bell to put on a door and it works great.

Comment by Jordanne Hermes on March 24, 2014 at 8:38am: Our Nala had problems with potty training as well. It took her 3 months to finally get it down. One thing that really helped was monitoring her food/water intake. We would leave her food and water out from 6:30-7:30am and 4:30-7pm. I felt bad taking her water away but it really helped until she could get her body under control. When she was about 5 months old, we started leaving it out all day. Best of luck to you!

We kept a leash on him all the time and never let him out of our sight. It was exhausting but so worth it once he learned to go to the door to potty. We only had a handful of accidents in the house. Comment by Christy and Cooper on March 14, 2014 at 5:25am: I should probably introduce Cooper first! We got Cooper from Rusty and Lexi's litter. We brought him home on March 8, 2014. I have 4 teenagers and a husband that helps take care of Cooper. We are already in love with this sweet and very adorable puppy! He is very easy going and playful! He likes to snuggle and follow you around. So cute!

We are having some trouble with potty training though. Cooper goes 50% outside and 50% inside! We take him out frequently. We reward him when he goes outside, and scold him when he goes inside. Any helpful suggestions would be great! He is from Rusty and Lexi's litter. So adorable!

If anyone new is wondering what they look like, Nala and her half sister Frankie have an Instagram page nala_frankie_doodles .
