Took Hogan to the Minooka Dog Park yesterday. Had a wonderful romp and he was so calm and relaxed for the rest of the day.

I heard it is optional if th owner wants to join the dog in the water, but that a good number of owners were in the pool. I was also told to bring a tennis ball, but expect a lot of dogs all going for the same ball!

I heard about this from the place I work.(Spa,paw, and tail). Do the humans accompany the dogs in the water? I know Kramer loves to swim, but I'm not sure how this works,

I wanted to share this info with the group. I found out through an old boss of mine that the YMCA - South Shore location will be doing maintenance on their pool soon... so they are offering a Doggie Swim on January 17th. It's $10.00 for the first dog and $5.00 for the second dog (I would imagine it would be each dog after the first, but you might want to check if you need to). It's held between 4-7 and you need to reserve an hour for the time you would like to participate in the pool (4-5, 5-6, 6-7) I guess they had this recently at the Y on Beloit Road and they learned some lessons from it. They are supposed to have Lifeguards who will help take your dogs outside if they need to go potty. Here's the location info along with the phone number for you to call for more info. If your dog(s) are at all water obsessed like mine, this is a wonderful opportunity!

For those in or near Brown county..Bentley and I went to the brown county dog park today..and had a blast..in november, they enlarged the off leash dog park to 4 acres..with a small dog area..and a huge large dog area. It's open year round...$2 for day pass or $15 for annual pass which can be bought there or golrusk.
