Thank you Nancy!
Hmm, I wonder if they had that helicopter service available to the basin. Sounds like fun to me! Sure would have saved a lot of "huffin and puffin" on my part. But, I don't think it would have helped with the slight headache I had from the altitude. Last year when we were at the Grand Canyon I made a comment to my hubby that I thought it would be fun to hike from the North rim to the South rim. BIG MISTAKE! Now he wants to do it!
I know they have helicopters there, I think I'll try to talk him into a helicopter ride instead. lol

F, If you scroll down to the 6th picture in the link I attached you'll see that Sheba and Duke were sitting in the same area as the picture in the link. Look at the mountain in the background and the snow then compare it to the picture of Sheba & Duke. I think they posted their link in 2007. It is amazing to walk through the wildflowers that were as tall as I am. Oh, and you're welcome!

Thank you Jane. We would love to go back there again, During quite a bit of the hike we were stopping every 20 feet to catch our breath due to the altitude. I wondered if we were ever going to get to the basin to see all of the beautiful wildflowers, waterfalls and mountains!

OMG--I just breezed thru the link. I'll spend more time later but what pictures. I'm thinking this is the way to travel nowadays, no packing etc. Just sit back and look at the beauty. Of course, it's nothing like the real thing but it is rather wonderful anyhow. Thanks, Ann.

This was an amazingly beautiful place..magical! The columbines were sooooo beautiful! I wish you could have seen it F! Here is a link about the Lower Ice Lake Basin in Colorado. It was a somewhat difficult hike but well worth it!

The wildflowers in your photo are so many types, I've never seen anything quite like that. The columbines and Indian Paintbrush are huge. I have been to lots of national parks here and in Canada but this place is very special.
