Rose, this is the hike I told you about where we had to stop about every 20 ft. to catch our breath. We started hiking at around 7 to 8 thousand feet and stopped at almost 13 thousand feet. It took us several hours to reach this basin. I'm not sure how many miles we hiked. We were going to go on and hike higher but it was getting late, the skies had some nasty storm clouds and we still had to hike back. Oh, did I mention that the trail became more treacherous if we continued? I was glad the weather was changing. I didn't really want to continue on, I probably would have chickened out due to the trail and the fact that I don't like heights. But this was an amazing and beautiful place.
