You should check out the grooming section as you will find that most groomers don't know how to groom a goldendoodle. I groom Kahlua, but have to bring her to a groomer to get the pads of her feet, privates and nails trimmed. I love the website and have taken pictures off the website to show the groomer what I want to do and what NOT to do. When we got Kahlua at 12 weeks, I believe she was already 15 lbs. Her mother (golden retriever) and dad (poodle) were both 65lbs, groomer estimated that she would be about the same. To our surprise, she just grew and grew and grew, at her 2 year appointment she was 95lbs. I asked the groomer if somethings was wrong, but was told with these breeds, you never know what might have been in the past line. I asked the vet if he thought she was FAT or OVERWEIGHT, he said no, she's fine. She definitely has the "butt" of a golden, she sashays like the best of them. There is a 125lb golden retriever (her boyfriend) across the street and although she is lighter than he is, she is taller. You can tell she has the poodle legs. Her hair is not wiry, it's more wavy and I dont really brush her alot, but if she gets a matt, I cut it out as soon as I find it. I will recommend that you start walking Truman on a leash. Our neighbor told me about the Gentle Leader and I have to say that was one of the best pieces of advice I recieved. I've been walking Kahlua using a Gentle Leader since we brought her home. We practice all our commands when she's on the leash. I have never had an issue with her running, pulling or jerking me while on the leash. In fact, our granddaughter is onl 50lbs and is able to walk her without being pulled. He won't like it in the beginning, but after awhile he'll realize that the leash means a walk and he'll sit there nice an pretty waiting for you to put it on.
