Retired, mother of 2 Chocolate Point Siamese cats.
What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
We found a wonderful multigenerational Red Mini Australian Labradoodle at a breeder in ME. We currently have two Siamese Chocolate Point rescues, a brother and sister who are 10 yrs. Our new Doodle, Lucy Scarlett O'Hara is a spunky, vivacious bundle of energy and smart as a whip!
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Breeder
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
We wanted part Lab and a smaller version of the 100 lb. chocolate Lab we recently lost to pancreatitis.
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
Lucy loves to play fetch, "keep away" from Mommy, and try to get the cats to come play with her.
Does your doodle(s) shed?
Nope!
Who grooms your doodle(s)?
Salon at the moment
Relationship Status:
Married

I'm not sure if you have found a groomer or not, but I have found a groomer in Manchester on the Vernon line. Her name is Corrine at Shaggy Chic. She does a really good job! Sorry it's been over a year since I have been on here.
I'm so VERY sorry that I didn't answer all of your kind comments, but I just found out (DUH) that I could make a comment back to all of you at the same time! Please forgive my ignorance...
Lucy is doing very well, she's 4 months now and 15.8 lbs. and an excellent specimen of the breed so says her Vet who just loves her! She's teething now and can't wait for THAT part to be over so I can HEAL! I forgot just how sharp those little needles really are.
I just love this site, and get the answers to my questions about everything from grooming to travel here! Thank you for all of your input and wonderful welcome!
Hi Barb - she is just cute as anything. I will tell you a wool coat will be easier kept shorter - going through the puppy stage might not be so bad (brush a few times a week (not just on the top) but down to the skin. Trust yourself to trim her eyes. They generally are used to it. If not - have your vet show you how to do it. There is a great groomer in Canton - I'm not sure you want to travel that far. You can learn how to do it yourself - and if you mess up in anyway - just know they grow back. My mother in law always said to me the difference between a good haircut and a bad haircut was 6 weeks....
Things are so much better this morning...my little guy is even wagging his tail. Thank you so much for everything. Lucy's Valentine pictures are just adorable!!
Welcome to DoodleKisses and the Australian Labradoodles group. We also have a small ALD and he is very fiesty with our older goldendoodle. He looks a lot like Lucy, only a year older. They are so much fun. Enjoy every minute with her.
Hi Barb: I'm DeeDee and I have the same exact story about losing my yellow lab 2 1/2 yrs ago. I grieved and grieved and then I got MY mini ALD, Sheila, from a breeder in Maine, and I'll bet you your breeder and mine have gotten puppies from each other. I love L'il Sheila (girl in Australian) to death. She now weighs ten lbs. We are empty nesters also. Which is the more recent color red or yellow, or were you choosing between the two. My breeder had a Scarlet too. Your red is darling and curly like my She She. Look at my page DeeDee and Sheila. You will see her Christmas dress on her. We are empty nesters also.I have my name on a list for another, but am dealing w/ some health issues right now. I LOVE the picture of the red w/ black nose.

Just love the pics of Lucy Scarlett, Barb...
She is so precious.
Hope you're doing well and Lucy is up and about after her surgery?
Enjoy your day!
She is so dang cute! Lucy and Scarlett both fit her, yes? Thank you for sharing!
OMD! Lucy Scarlett is a cutie!
Hello again Barb...
Just a "buddy check" to see how Lucy Scarlett is today...and how you are doing too?
I just read your lovely post to Joanne and my heart went out to you for your loss.
I wanted you to know that you were in my thoughts and prayers today...
Hugs...
