What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!: We have an Apricot Goldendoodle named Laci. She is 15 months old and is a bundle of joy and energy. She loves to play with her big little sister Sarah whom is a 7 year old Cockapoo. Laci loves EVERYBODY especially her daddy and her grandparents. We are all looking forward to our first Doodle Romp this year, it looks like a great time for all.

Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?: I have allergies to pet hair and dander so when we had to have our miniature Poodle put down there was a huge void in our home. We did a lot of research and the temperament and good nature of Goldendoodles, we discovered, was second to none. So taking everything into consideration it was a no-brainer.

What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?: We take walks, play in the yard (she loves sticks) and go to visit grand mom's house. They live in Delaware so we all go to the beach and walk and play on the beach. Laci also loves to ride in the car so sometimes we pack Laci in the car and just go for a ride.

At 8:01pm on February 5, 2012, Nancy, Ned, Clancy, and Charlie said…: The LesPouchs is sharp so it may not be right for her. It is a slicker but the tines are bent and the body is flexible. Ned had the green one as a pup when his coat was not as thick but we mostly use the stiffer one (purple) now because his coat is poodle thick. We also have, among the myriad of grooming gear and products, a pin brush which doesn't get all the way down but works fine when Ned is shorter or freshly groomed. It works well on Clancy's coat also. We got it from Kemp but it isn't holding up like the LesPouchs brushes.

It is a slicker brush made by LesPouchs and is pricy but well worth it. If you want to get one you can google doodlecountry.com The owner is also a member here - Kemp (you can find his page here also. Anyway you can describe Laci's coat and he can help you choose the correct one. Because Clancy sheds and rarely mats, we could use other brushes on him, but on Ned - that is the only one that works. We also use a steel comb after we brush Ned. Join the grooming group for tips and to share your experiences with others. We haven't ever had to cut Ned too short but we had a foster that had to be shaved. We had to watch out for sunburn until he grew out some.
