- About Me:
- For 30 years every spare minute I had was in the barn with horses or on the trail riding horses. When back injuries forced me to stop riding several years ago I needed to do something different to fill the void. So, I traded my horses for dogs and haven't looked back. Now, when I'm not working (I'm an elementary school teacher), I can usually be found doing some kind of dog "thing" with great dog people ;-)
- What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
- I have two English Goldendoodles and had a great black lab
Fozzie is 4 and has the fuzzy "teddy bear" look. Shaggy came to live with us at 8 weeks old, he is now close to 2 years old. Shaggy's look is quite different than Fozzie's. He seems to be much more retriever looking but his look is changing all the time. Gus was a13 year old black lab. He was my "shadow" dog, always a step behind me everywhere I go. I said good bye to my Gus on 5-13-13. I just can't take him off DK yet so I'll update his passing.
- Where did you get your doodle(s)?
- Breeder
- Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
- When I first saw the mix and started researching them, I couldn't help but smile and laugh at their adorable silly face. I knew then that I wanted to come home to that face every day. I had also read that their temperment and trainability were fantastic.
- What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
- I enjoy most everything I do with the dogs. I most enjoy the therapy work Fozzie and I do with children and at a local hospital. I also am just learning trick training that I can do with both doodles. Shaggy is still a Therapy Dog "In Progress." The activity I look most forward to is at the end of a busy day, when we all crash and snuggle up for some serious petting.
- Does your doodle(s) shed?
- Yes!, A little bit but nothing major
- Who grooms your doodle(s)?
- A local groomer bathes them when I can't and a professional groomer friend does the clipping.
- Favorite Doodle Products?
- OMG from Plush Puppy for tangles and to help keep things from sticking in their hair.

I can't believe my boy is 2 years old!! Shaggy has become my new shadow ever since my lab Gus passed away last spring. Even though Shaggy has been a bit of a challenge to train, (he's not at all food motivated and he still thinks a leash is just a suggestion to heal), and the hair he sheds gets stuck on everything, I wouldn't want him any other way. He is such a hoot, and makes me smile and laugh all the time! I sure do love this…

It's been 3 months since I said good bye to my Gus . He is still missed so very much and while I cherrish the great memories, sometimes they make me so sad. Today was major cleaning day which meant moving almost every piece of furniture in the living room to vacuum, dust, wipe, and re-arrainge. All his life, when even the smallest thing was moved, Gus would always be right there under my feet and in the way of the vacuum sniffing out anything interesting (usually popcorn) that may have…

So are you hooked yet, on Outlander, I mean? I have read all of the books twice and watched the series at least twice. My husband wants to know if the television is available, and I tell him not if Outlander is on. Next Saturday is the season finale. I know what will happen, but I like seeing it from somebody else's point of view.
Hi Cathy! I just threw it together on the spur of the moment, so I certainly understand. I'm excited that Rocky and I are meeting one of his littermates, Violet! I'll let you know how it goes and if/when we decide to try it again. I would love a "First Saturday" Doodle Romp date. Maybe you can bring Fozzie and Shaggy next time.

I just joined this website and I find it very addicting!! Like now we have friends over and we are all watch a dvd...and here I am with my laptop surfing doodle kisses and emailing you...lol :)
Cathy, Good to hear from you! I wish I had something great to say to make the pain easier, but I don't. Gus had a good life and people who loved him. A dog could ask for no more. You should be out of school by now. YAY!! Enjoy your summer. Talk soon!
