What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!: Me and my fiancee have a golden doodle. His name is Murphy. He is 9 months old. We bought him from a breeder and had him shipped to us when he was 12 weeks old. He is so cute!! I will let the pictures speak for themselves.

Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?: less shedding properties, cute adorable face and great disposition

What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?: run on the beach, go to the park, play chase in the house

I'm no expert on allergies, however you should check out the groups section, there's a wealth of information there that has helped me a great deal, and Karen is so helpful on the subject. The food group is one you may want to check out, and the health issues group as well.

At 5:24am on January 7, 2009, Jen said…: I don't know where to classify him - it's definitely not wool. I fnd it's cotton with hair mixed in. He never matted, until he was about 1 year old. Then it was ridiculous! But I wasn't used to grooming him daily or every couple days. It was maybe once a week. So now that I have the proper tools and the knowledge, it's not difficult or as time consuming. It took me a good week of 1 hour daily grooming to deal with all the mats. You could see the 'holes' for the 1st couple days, but yuo can't any more. I tried getting him into a groomer, but there were no appointments, not even emergency ones. I don't know how your doodles hair will come in, but just be aware and watch for it as they get older. And if it does happen, I'm sure you'll be able to get into a groomer, way faster than I can here! There might be 3 here now.

At 2:06pm on January 4, 2009, Jen said…: He is a big guy! Gingy is almost 15 months and he's about 60lbs. Same thing as Murphy...a lot of fur! Very skinny. Gingy looks like a greyhound when he's shaved. I don't think Gingy will get too much heavier, but the vet says they grow until about 2 years of age. Time will tell. How old is Murphy?

At 9:01pm on December 25, 2008, Jenn&Bruce said…: Christine, I was just browsing through the Doodle Grooming Group, and noticed that you mentioned Murphy has been chewing at his paws...and although I am merely a fellow Goldendoodle owner, I have heard from Veterinary professionals that foot chewing can be a sign that he may have food allergies. you might want to look into it. it might but something as simple as changing his diet. Good Luck!
