I'm an aerospace engineer by day, and a health and fitness and nutrition coach by night. I grew up with lots of animal around me on our farm in Montana, but have been in LA for the last 29 years.
What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
Even though I grew up with a farm and many animals, Kona was my first very own puppy other than our pets growing up. I got him at a breeder in Western Montana because I fell in love with my niece's Goldendoodle that she got at the same breeder. Kona is a Double Doodle (half F1B Goldendoodle and half Multi-gen Australian Labradoodle). He arrived November 28, 2012 and reached his full size at about 6 months old (24 pounds...large mini). I then heard from the rescue folks about a stray goldendoodle in a kill shelter in July, 2013, and had to go meet her. The line was out the door to adopt her, but I had my secret weapon with me....Kona. They instantly fell in love with each other and the adoption people watched and smiled. We think she is just about 1 month older than Kona, I had several lovely soothing Hawaiian names picked out for her, but she showed that she was a scrappy, scruffy blonde survivor, and somehow the name Maggie just fit her. Her hair started coming in so thick around her body and not as much on her feet, so I had her DNA tested. The prominant mix is American Eskimo and Briard (French sheepdog)...so there might not be any poodle in the doodle! Ha! People still think she looks like a doodle, but she has way more herding instincts in her than goofball Kona, so I'm inclined to believe the DNA test over what the rescue group told me.
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Breeder, Rescue
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
I fell in love with the breed after spending time with my niece's standard Goldendoodle. He is so sweet with her 5 children and is a 120 pound fluffy clown. Kona has topped out at 30 pounds, which is a better fit for my smaller house and yard. (I'm also allergic to some dogs, but wasn't to my niece's doodle, which was a huge benefit!). Maggie showed up at 24 pounds, but is now 30 lbs at 3 years old. . (She was very bony when she arrived). Kona is still a cartoon teddy bear, and Maggie is a sweet, but hilarious scrappy clown
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
Play fetch, cuddle, go to the dog park and go to the beach.
Does your doodle(s) shed?
Nope!
Who grooms your doodle(s)?
I groom my puppies most of the time, But once a year I let Kona get a two inch long clipper cut on his body by a groomer, so won't let them touch his goofy doodle face. Maggie gets her thick undercoat raked out thin twice a year.
Favorite Doodle Products?
Chris Christensen oblong wooden pin brush for every day brushing. T-Pin brush and safari de-matting comb for more serious grooming sessions.

I think they're all adorable. I don't have a huge issue with shedding, but it's annoying lol. Also, I have a snowshoe, so I'm used to wiping hair off of random surfaces.
You have me interested in doing some DNA testing on our little rescue. It doesn't really matter, but I am interested to know what he is (just curiosity). Love Maggie's look and you have two little beautiful dogs.
Hey, your little white dog reminds me a lot of our little rescue pup. I'm guessing Kona is the brown dog and Maggie is the white dog. Not surprised with the American Eskimo and Briard testing. We think Zeppo is part poodle and part Jack Russell, but the rescue people said he was a possible mini labradoodle (don't think so).
So you work in aerospace engineering in Long Beach. My nephew and his wife (Russian) both also work in that area. They live in Huntington Beach and she works in Long Beach. I'm sure you know each other someway.
You have options on the right side of the page. I go ahead and mark the romps public because I feel that there isn't anything 'private' since no one is named etc. BUT you can mark it as anyone with the link (see where it says edit in the right hand column near the top) and then you post the link in e-mail or the dk box. That is what I put for things like my kids parties or things that would be boring to the world but family or close friends might want to see.
Right hand side of page again, click on link to this album. You can choose to cut and paste a link to e-mail, html, or embed slideshow.
How can I help you with Picasa? You upload to an album all at once by dragging the photos all in a group. What I do is make a file of the pictures on my desktop and highlight all and drag them to the upload "place" If I try to load them one by one they actually load one by one - not fun.

Thanks. I will check it right now.
Gwyn, what am I doing wrong? I can't access the pictures. It keeps asking me for the e-mail address of the person who's pics .....
I don't normally think of Kona and Ned looking alike, but in this picture...... I do think Kona's usual look is 'sturdier' which I LOVE.
I really thought this was Ned at first, then I zoomed and cropped - and realized it was Kona!
