About Me:: I live in Huntsville, AL and spend weekends at Smith Lake. My husband and I are both Auburn University graduates. We own a small aerospace engineering company. We have one grown son who is a graduate student In Chicago, IL.

What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!: We have a female apricot ALD named Izzie born 1/28/2009 and a second male cream ALD named Max born 3/22/2009. Izzie & Max have passed their CGC test. We also have a rescued dog named Annie who has three legs. Annie is a wire hair terrier mix. We have two cats - Catie-7 yrs old and Thomas 3 yrs old. We adopted Thomas from a rescue group and Catie was a stray who adopted us.

Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?: Love the look and the personality.

Max has an appt. with a new groomer that was suggested by someone on doodlekisses tomorrow. She suggested I stay and watch them groom him and learn how best to keep up with the grooming between visits. I'm looking forward to this, hope it works out.

I see you guys are at a lake often. I have read that the more doodles swim, the more they mat. Is that true with your dogs? We live on a lake and my Max LOVES the water, doesn't matter the temperature, he wants to be in it. I would love to keep his fur longer like your dogs. They are adorable. Even his face mats. He HATES being brushed/groomed. The older he gets, the worse it gets. (we got him at 6months old, we have had him a year now) Do you have any advise on grooming? It looks like your dogs coats are similar to Max's.
