My breeder is advertising on puppy find.. Should I be concerned

- About Me:
- We are a family of 6, oldest ranging from 25, to 10 year old twins, Jack and Kate. We have a special needs son (24) that has Autism. We are active, love to fish and hope to retire Lakeside in Michigan. We have recently had a tremendous trauma in our home with the loss of a pet. long story short we were lied to by Petland when we got Amber a miniature poodle. We thought we asked all the right questions, and only went there because we knew someone who knew the owners of this store. After hours of Amber being home she was hospitalized with viral pneumonia. To keep it short Amber ended up with severe Neuro issues, biting leaving permanent scares on my children, but in the end got into a digestive issue and the decision to put her down was devastating. We decided that getting a new pet sooner than later (and doing better investigation )would be best for the kids. Especially Jack. We have chosen to get a Golden-doodle and will pick he or she up first weekend of March.

- I grew up with poodles and they were a positive childhood experience. We also had a Nova Scotia Duck tolling Retriever for 18 years that was the most wonderful dog ever!!! The best of two great breeds of dogs!
- What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
- We hope to run, play , boat etc!!!

Hi, Kimberly. Harley is adorable. Sorry to hear of your difficult experience with Amber, and I hope this precious new pup will help ease the pain and create wonderful new memories. I read about Harley's first day. I'm a new Doodler myself, but I bet he will be happy to be home after a day or two. Our new puppies get car sick too, and from what I've read, it is fairly common and lots of pups grow out of it. Can't wait to hear how Harley is doing.

I am so sorry you had the experience you had with Amber. However, I do not think that is the norm. As dog owners, we all know that puppies bite and that they are doing what they do when playing and interacting with their siblings. I believe it all depends on the socialization a family does with their new puppy and the training methods they use. Hopefully all your family members will be on the same page as to how to treat the new puppy. Once the puppy has had its puppy shots, enroll in a puppy training school and encourage your children to join you. It will be more fun for everyone. Good luck and I hope your doodle will bring joy to you and family.
