I don't know if this is the place to start this discussion or not, however I am searching for an adorable doodle about 30lbs. or under. I have written on this quite a bit, however, I always seem to…Continue

Laurie,
Saw a comment you wrote on Lynda's page. Thought you might want to contact Jackie of JBADORABLE Doodles.
She has and may know of smaller doodles for you. Right now she has a gorgeous litter of tiny labradoodle puppies.
I have been to her home and played with her puppies on several occasions. All happy and safely raisned. No pens or cages or barns! UGH. No puppymill.
Check her out. Good Luck

Ember is the dog that someone posted about on the discussion you started on the forum. She's gorgeous, but not a mini.
I think if you work with the DRC or IDOG rescues you should be able to find the right one eventually. Good luck with the search!
I will be glad to help you in any way I can. Don't hesitate to ask. I joined this site when it was fairly new and small and have learned along with its growth. I joined Facebook and can't get the hang of it at all - and don't much care! Do you only want a rescue doodle? There are two good places to go. IDOG and the DoodleRescueCollective
http://doodlerescuecollectiveinc.org/
On the home page are dogs listed through the DRC. The letters in front of the dog are the state it is in. I am one of the people who welcome you. You can apply to adopt a specific dog you see on petfinder or at the top of the DRC page fill out an adoption application for a doodle in general. At the top of the DRC page there is also a place to click that says doodles in need. This is another space that doodles are listed - these are not under the DRC foster program.
I will also tell you to google in animal shelters.

When you get there click on what works for you. I suggest that you check all the shelters that are within how far you would drive to look at a dog - EVERY DAY. I would call about any dog that looked like a good match for you. Remember a doodle might be listed as a poodle, poodle mix, lab mix, terrier mix etc.
I also suggest you check Petfinder all the time. google in Petfinder and poodle mix or any other label you think might work and the various zip codes you might drive to.
If you are not only looking for a rescue. I can help you with that too. At the top of this page under help is advice on choosing a breeder - read it. Also there is a group that has owner recommended breeders - these owners have actually been to these breeders and can highly recommend them. I have a doodle kisses friend in Chapel Hill North Carolina. I don't know how close that is to you but she might have suggestions for your area. She is listed as Linda, Webber and Seda.
