About Me:

My husband and I own an Australian Labradoodle that we named Higby. We are photographers and love the opportunities to photograph pets, people, flowers, landscapes, and nature's art.

What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!

We have a 21/2 year old male that we named Higby. Higby was sired by Washington Titan. We took Higby as guardians initially, but he's now become ours alone. We adore his personality and he definitely has family status! He's a constant companion.

Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?

I had heard that labradoodles were amazing pets and when we considered getting a dog, that was a breed that stood out to us. Then my sister told me that her friend had become a breeder of Australian Labradoodles and the breeder was looking for a guardianship home. We looked into that partnership and we agreed to be the guardian of our dog. Eventually, we became the sole owners and this labradoodle could not be more loved, nor could a dog love us more.

What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?

He loves to ride in the car. We resorted to spelling "ride" so he wouldn't know what we were discussing and he learned quickly to spell. He's amazing. It's almost as if he can read our minds. Higby is playful with other dogs and pets and he loves children. He is instinctually gentle with the little folks and it's a wonder how he figures out so much without our input.

Nope!

Who grooms your doodle(s)?

We take Higby to Wilcox groomers and also to our vet for grooming.

Favorite Doodle Products?

Higby loves anything that means food. He likes the rawhide chews. There is one toy that Higby has had since he came to be with us and it's a little bunny that is round like a ball. He carries it around and licks it. It used to make sounds, but now it's worn out. Higby is careful not to destroy it and I'm convinced it's his favorite comfort item.
