- About Me:
- I once had a labradoor/Old english sheepdog mix, best dog I ever had. She had very long, old english like hair, but grooming her wasn't a problem, she did mat, but not instantly. I went through Obedience training with her at about 6 months, and she got 1st place!

- i have a labradoodle, black, very very sweet, he's about 15 months old,His mom was a labradoodle, his dad an apricot standard poodle, slightly curly hair but I'm having a hard time with the matting!
- Where did you get your doodle(s)?
- Breeder
- Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
- I loved the curly hair of the labradoodle, and the smarts of the poodle mixed with the fun loving lab, hoping to get a dog somewhat like my lab/old english in temperament, very trainable.
- What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
- We love to play ball, and he loves to ride in the car.

- Yes!
- Who grooms your doodle(s)?
- Right now a groomer, I'm hoping to learn more so I can do it

Hi Mary, I saw your question about Toby vomiting bile on occasion and Tara is the same. DH and I are home most of the time but if one of us is gone for a few hours during the day she sometimes throws up bile. I talked with her breeder about it and she told me Tara's grandmother is the same way. Just a nervous acidy stomach I guess. Tara also has some problems with vomiting bile in the morning if we don't give her a snack at bedtime. Maybe you could try giving him a snack when you have to leave him. Just some type of food to absorb the stomach acid so it doesn't become irritating.

- My groomer just used a shampoo/conditioner on Ned that is called "milk" She says it is even better than Cowboy Magic. It is supposed to make dirt and mats just slide off the dog for like 6 weeks. She said it doesn't last that long but it lasts a couple of weeks at least. She said you can find it at regular pet stores. I can't remember the brand right off the top of my head, but when I return from vacation, I will ask her. I would recognize it I think if I saw it. The name is written in not very legible letters. She showed me a huge bottle that she ordered that is a concentrate.

- Hi Mary! Sorry to hear that you're having trouble finding the grooming products. Maybe you could check Ebay? Sometimes they have decent shipping prices. :) I usually have to order my grooming supplies online too. The local pet supply stores just don't have the stuff I want. Oh well, at least I save on gas money! ;)

- store locater for cowboy magic: http://www.cowboymagic.com/ Maybe there is another "feed" store near you. If so, they probably carry the original mane and tail detangler also. I also prefer not to order by mail if I can buy it locally. I have heard that the Chris Christiansen products are good, but you would have to order them also. I will tell you that Cowboy Magic and the original mane and tail detangler are worth driving over 50 miles (1 way) for as far as I am concerned. Ned mats and I need "stuff" to help with that. I have been told that Pantene Shampoos etc. are great for helping prevent matting. My groomer thins Ned's hair. This also really helps.

My Toby passed away

It has been so hard, my darling Toby died while having a seizure on Dec 1, 2016, the day before my only grandchild was born (a wonderful granddaughter). I haven't gotten any dog since, and I miss the companionship-but my health is such that I will have to get a smaller dog.
